USA Today bestselling author Catherine Gayle presents another novel in the sexy Tulsa Thunderbirds hockey romance series, a spin-off from her popular Portland Storm series.
He had it all.
And lost it in an instant.
The night Dmitri Nazarenko won hockey’s Holy Grail, he lost more than he ever bargained for. With a world of guilt weighing him down, Dima can never forgive himself for his tragic misjudgment. Turning his body into a shrine of past mistakes, he hides behind tattoos that memorialize his failures and a beard that masks his pain.
But London Hawke sees right through him. The fiery woman refuses to pity a man like him. No stranger to incurable injuries, London lets nothing stand in the way of living her life. Seeing an able-bodied man haunted by the ghosts of his past is a surefire way to trigger her annoyance, and that’s exactly what she finds in Dima.
When they face off, it becomes a battle of wills. Their constant bickering turns to an unavoidable dance between the sheets. But she won’t accept sharing a bed with the past for long. Will Dima learn to fight his demons, or will London leave him to dance with his ghosts alone?

Dmetri and London love and hate!
I'm gonna start by saying I love Catherine Gayles writings. I have read all of her sports romance books. I have followed all the Portland Storm and Tulsa Thunderbirds. Have even read my favorite ones three times. Ghost dance though takes the cake. This author knows her hockey and loves her Russians. Ghost dance takes on several life issues many of us don't have to face and prayerful will never have to yet these characters not only live it but find a way to deal with it and over comes their issues to be able to come together. Love has no boundaries. London the beautiful female that she is takes on the role of " fixing people" when she herself needs to be fixed. Dmitri, wow is he hot and can I have one, feels more than most and feels like he is responsible for the world. Can these two make it with their personalities and their history?
Prepare yourself for an emotional roller coaster.
I don't know how Catherine Gayle does it but she puts your emotions through a ringer with this book.
I liked Dima in the other books. I really loved his soft side with Harper and how much love he shared with her. London was a hard read but I eventually came to like her.
I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review.
My FAVORITE Catherine Gayle Book So Far!
*I received a free Advance Reader Copy in exchange for my honest thoughts/opinions of the author's book.*
I am a huge fan of both of Catherine Gayle's Portland Storm and Tulsa Thunderbirds hockey series, but this book is my new current favorite of hers.
In this story, the focus is on Dima, the surly Russian, and London, who is fiercely blunt. Both have a past, but cope with their respective pasts differently. Catherine has been slowly building my love for Dima since Hunter's story (Thunderbirds #1: Bury the Hatchet), but this book has exposed such a loving, gentle heart under all his surliness.
The past can often keep people from moving forward in their lives and trauma affects every person differently. I love how Catherine writes trauma in a way that is so understanding and respectful, yet gently pushes open layers of trauma to enlighten the reader, without overwhelming the reader. She takes such care and devotion with her stories and characters that leaves me with goose bumps every time I finish one of her books.
I highly recommend Ghost Dance - the witty banter between Dima and London, their romantic journey, and a mom's trip make this book so wonderful. A must read!
