The Bizarre, Hilarious, Disturbing, Marvelous, and Inspiring Things I Learned When I Read Every Single Word of the Bible
This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
“Hilarious. . . . It’s Cliff Notes for Scripture—screenplay by Plotz, story by God. . . . In the end, though, the book is made by the spirit of the writer.” — The New York Times Book Review
“Like the Bible itself, Good Book contains multitudes—it is by turns thought-provoking, funny, enlightening and moving.” — A. J. Jacobs, author of The Year of Living Biblically
“Plotz is a genius writer.” — Franklin Foer, author of How Soccer Explains the World
A whip-smart, laugh-out-loud tour through the most important book in the world, a book most people have never read: the Bible.
There is more than one of us!
Surprise was my first reaction. Here is an author with the courage to see and say that what is in the Bible seems a mess. I was raised evangelical and had found similar feelings as I had read it.
Mr. Plotz has also a good sense of humor. It was also enlightening to read a book written openly by a person with Jew culture as his base. It opened some doors I not to peek through. For example, seeing the tread of legal history was fun. The first lawsuit made me smile.
This was the first book I finished on my iPad. I found myself using the dictionary and search tools were very helpful. I had downloaded a free version of the Bible to read passages too.
