I've always been a good girl.
I work hard, I follow the rules and I always achieve my goals.
But sometimes good girls want things that aren't good for them.
Or someone who isn't good for them.
Like their new boss.
And sometimes they do very bad thigns to get his attention.
Like sell their virginity in an auction.
Who knew he'd be so very, very mad?
Maybe this was not my best laid plan...
This book was an absolute riot!!! Gah! Jana Aston is a genius! The more I read of her books the more I want to beg her to write faster. I've had a stressful few days and this was exactly what I needed to uplift my spirits. This was romcom brilliance!
Lydia Clark. I adore quirky, nerdy characters and it really is tricky to get the right balance and still be loveable and adorable. Lydia is the right mix. She was awkward but not even in a cringeworthy way, she was just adorable. I totally laughed out loud so many times because of what she did or said. Add in a wacky best friend and I was rolling with laughter.
Rhys Dalton. He's your typical busy millionaire who has no time or interest in dating. He's 12 years older than Lydia. He should not be letting her distract him but her good girl vibes is totally turning him on and he can't stop thinking about her.
The way Rhys reacted to Lydia's quirkiness added more entertainment to an already funny story. Then you got Rhys best friends chiming in with their two cents. Really, you can't go wrong with this story. It was fun, quirky, flirty and sexy! I'll be re-reading this one for sure. ARC provided by author.
Devoured Good Girl
I am enthusiastically in love with this book! The banter was so much fun to read and had me wishing when I was nervous that I would come up with half of the ridiculous stuff that Lydia does. The chemistry was there and there were some seriously hot scenes that worked so well in this story.
I also have to say, working in HR that this book had me laughing a lot.
I’d be Pierce’s Good Girl.
Can we talk about this cover? How does Jana find the hot guys in suits? More importantly WHERE does she find the hot guys in suits?
Good Girl follows Sure Thing and is set in the Sutton empire.
I'm gonna be honest and say I was a bit put off in the beginning with another story of a "broke" girl and "rice" boy. I think I've read a few too many of those back to back and am longing for a "broke" boy and "rice" girl book. And I was so afraid that would tarnish my outlook throughout the whole story. I'm happy to say it didn't. I got over it pretty fast b/c I fell absolutely in love with Lydia, even though she is young and "broke" (fresh out of college). I loved her no holds bar on what she is thinking. I love her zero filter and always questioning brain.
I was a bit put off by Rhys' blinded by non-commitment. I get a bit where he was coming from b/c of the age difference, but nothing he did or said or past he has gave us, the readers, the thought that he was a "bad guy" like he thought he was. All his reasoning for his lifestyle were (imo) legit. Can't fault him for that, and I hated that he faulted himself for it.
You know when you get to about 70% of the story and the angst/arc happens? Yeah I was looking for it. At 85% I was all 'am I missing a quarter of the story?'. Everything was still flowing pretty darn well. I honestly didn't want it to end and I didn't want angst and was happy that we were getting a book sans angst. But it did happen in a way (like at 93%) and I was worried it would feel like a rushed ending, but it WORKED. It really really worked.
There are a few questions left unanswered. I don't want to type them here b/c I feel they are spoiler'ish. But I have questions. grrrr
