Ruhlman is undoubtedly one of the best if not the best food writer in America. The history of how we have bought our food from 250 years ago until now is fascinating. I had a hard time putting it down and haven't been able stop telling family and friends about the many events of the life of the supermarket. For foodies (that's just about all of us now) it's a must read.
