You've seen the mailman walking down the street, right? He was just strolling along, wearing that cool safari pith helmet, like he was on some kind of expedition? You probably thought to yourself, "What a job! That guy has got it made!" You couldn't be more wrong!

That poor soul is out there freezing in the winter and broiling in the summer. He's out there dodging little nippy dogs and huge dog turds. He's dragging a forest's worth of paper in his mailbag to stuff in your mailbox only so you can stuff it in the trash can. All the while his supervisor watches him from the bushes, waiting to write up the littlest infraction. I haven't even gotten to the customers!

"Hey Mailman, don't run from my pit bull, it only makes him angry!"

"Hey Mailman, where's my check?"

"Hey Mailman, do you have my Fed Ex package?!"

It's a life so crazy, it belongs in the funny pages. I'm Peet Tamburino, and I've been drawing all my life and delivering mail for the last 12 years. I've seen so many crazy things out on the route, and now I'm putting them down on the page. The characters in this strip: Freddy, Oliver, Mr. DiMato…they are all based on real people I've seen and worked with. Most of the jokes in this strip are practically direct quotes!
