Description

For Samantha, running means freedom. That is, until the day a morning run turns into a living nightmare. Samantha wakes up to find herself held hostage in a cabin. With a masked abductor repeatedly injecting her arm with an unknown substance, Samantha tries in vain to find out what he wants, but he refuses to speak. Until the day he breaks his silence and promises her one day she will fall in love with him but the best part will be that she won't know who he is... until it's too late.

Yay

This book was so not what I was expecting . It was great and kept you up on your toes the whole time. The ending was also not completely like I expected . I feel bad for Mack though he didn't do anything wrong where's his happy ending ?

Great Book

I couldn't put it down.

Great book for older teens and adults

This book is very well-written, suspenseful, action-packed, and is one of the few books that surprised me. It's very long (847 pages) but those pages flew by too fast. I couldn't stop reading!

Now, some things to be aware of:
-Violence: Young adults are kidnapped and injected with magical serums. Monsters called "bugs" scratch and violently injure other people (but they heal quickly). Two of the main characters (boys) fight other evil characters, but their battles are invisible and not described much; also they do it with good intentions.
-Profanity: a few words, but they are mild. Some characters are described to be cursing under their breath, but their words are not described.
-Sexy Stuff: Characters kiss and sleep together, but nothing goes beyond that. The main character (girl) avoids the actual thing, because she knows she's not ready and that the other males she is friends with are magically enhanced (and find it harder to control themselves with girls and sometimes treat them like objects). The actual thing never happens, the girl only fears that the evil characters are going to do it to her. Also, the magical people (I'm not going to spoil exactly what they are) cannot have children, as their mutation is a new thing and it has not worked yet.

I recommend this book for older teens and adults who enjoy good action-mystery-fantasy books, and can tell when the limits are being stretched or broken, and can tell the difference between right and wrong. (Note: I found this book slightly harder to tell the difference than I did for The Hunger Games.)
