Quincy Ryan was just handed custody of a son he didn’t know existed. He knows how to be an architect, not a dad, so he looks to his own father for guidance, but that means moving with Pops to Marietta, Montana. Quincy knows he has to get over his shock and give Atlas the Christmas he deserves, but how? He needs a miracle.
Struggling actress Nicki Darren will take any job as Christmas approaches, even babysitting for a withdrawn, workaholic, single father. She identifies with four-year-old Atlas. She also lost her mom as a child and hasn’t had a real Christmas since.
An Advent calendar of activities soon has Nicki pulling Quincy out of the house to get a tree and ice skate with his son. She wants Quincy to open his heart to the boy, but as they countdown to Christmas Eve, she begins to fall for the Ryan men herself. If only the miracle Quincy is looking for included her…
His Christmas Miracle
His Christmas Miracle by Dani Collins is a wonderful story featuring a couple of misfits.
Nicole Darren, a girl who dreamt of making it big in Hollywood only to end up working at a nursing home to make ends meet. She has decided to return home to Glacier Creek, Montana. On the way there she stops in Marietta, Montana applying for a temporary job as a nanny for Quincy Ryan. Quincy has just recently relocated to Marietta, from Pittsburgh, with his father, Murray, and 4-year old son, Atlas. Murray is originally from Marietta and purchased the home his family previously owned.
Quincy did not know he was a father. He dated a woman for about four or five months, thought to marry her but she broke off the relationship. It turned out she became pregnant, whether on purpose or accidently and did not share the information with the baby’s father. When she was killed in a car accident, her parents locate Quincy to pass over custody of Atlas. Quincy had no idea how to be a father or how to take care of his son. That was why he hired Nicole to help with Atlas and assist with Murray.
Nicole helped all three men adjust to the changes in their lives. When it was time to leave, she did not want to go. She wanted more. However, she was offered a part in a television series and needed to decide if it was what she really wanted. Quincy found that Nicole not only helped him understand how to be a father, but she had gotten under his skin as well as affecting Atlas and Murray. The men did not want her to leave either, but Quincy needed to figure out a way to let her know how they felt.
The author did an excellent job writing this story. I enjoyed the fact that Ms. Collins interwove other Marietta residents into the story, mainly those from her previous books. For me, it was getting an update on old friends.
This was a fun and entertaining story with very likeable and authentic characters that you want to cheer on, hoping for that happy ending. The characters were well written with complex characteristics. The story line was riveting and kept my attention to the very end. I really enjoyed reading this book because Dani Collins wrote a sweet, fun, small town, Christmas romance that I could not put down. I loved this story as it warmed my heart. I highly recommend this book to other readers.
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.
His Christmas Miracle
I fell in love with this series from the start. I do try to read every book I can find. This is as good as the previous books. I wish I could go to Montana. Nicki wanted to act. Her agent dropped her. Now she is graduated to work with Seniors. She is driving to see Quincy and find out if she gets the job watching his Dad and son while he is at work. Spoiler. Quincy is a stand off person and Atlas follows him. Pops has diabetes. Nicki gets the job. It is soon to be Christmas. Quincy would rather forget it but Nicki is hung ho to celebrate it. Nicki helped Quincy and Atlas to come out and join in. Now she gets a call back from her agent. What a hard decision. I fell for this book. It was a really quick read. I would recommend this book to everyone. I hope you try to read this book. Don't pass this up. Enjoy reading this book! I have volunteered to read and review this book.
LOVED this book! These characters were so unique and fun, you can't help but fall for them immediately. Nicki Darren is definitely the light to Quincy Ryan's dark. Quincy is a bit of a social misfit to begin with. Years of a speech impediment and the ridicule only kids can hand out over something like that made him withdrawn and quiet. Now, although grown, he still isn't great with people. Tough for someone who out of the blue finds out he's a Dad and that his son needs a home. He calls on his father for help moving himself and his son Atlas to Marietta. However with his father's health issues and Quincy's need to work he knows he needs to hire someone to get them through the holidays. In comes Nicki Darren. Outgoing, chatty, and full of life Nicki. With no other options Quincy gives her the job and just prays he can get through the days ahead.
It was wonderful to read how Nicki slowly worked her magic getting Quincy to open up and connect with his son. This book will definitely remind you of the magic the holiday season holds. I recommend this one to everyone.
