From USA Today Bestselling Author, Elisabeth Grace, comes her most suspenseful, sexy, and thrilling book yet!
Women loathed me without even knowing my name. Men coveted the very idea of me.
Escort. Call girl. Prostitute. Hooker. Wh*re.
I'd heard it all. Done it all.
Over the years I'd felt a lot of things about my occupation...but not regret--never regret. I had my reasons for doing what I did and nothing and no one had ever made me question them.
UNTIL MARCO VALENTI.
He'd changed me and I'd naively fed into the fairy tale.
But Marco wasn't my Prince Charming. He had secrets of his own. Secrets that would eventually rip away everything I held dear.
Review: Duplicity Duet 1: Hook
Hook by Elisabeth Grace is the first book in her Duplicity Duet. It has a cliffhanger ending so consider yourself forewarned. Book two, Burn will be out June 2016 so not too long to wait.
Told from the POV of Emily AKA Brandi, this is the story of a call-girl in Vegas. Sounds simple right? Well... she is a single mother of a special needs child who chose this profession to be able to provide the care her son needs. She falls for her latest client, Marco Valenti, and their story becomes more than a job, they both develop feelings for each other. When Marco's past rears up and puts not just Emily in danger but her son too... well, things get complicated!
A powerful story with a surprising amount of humor interjected throughout. It broaches some uncomfortable issues with ease and was yet another wonderful read from an author I already consider a must-read.
Enjoyable characters, the storyline was intense. All in all an emotional read!
Though the protagonists relationship are somewhat predictable, there are enough plot twists to keep, things interesting. Reveals are well placed and well done. Good character development. Waiting to see if my suspected bad guy turns out to be the real villain. The ending will get the attention of anyone. Leaves you wanting to immediately get into the next volume. A good read overall, that I recommend.
