There's a fine line...
A. M. Madden delivers another wonderful read!! Hostile Workplace finds Sam Stanton at a very congested intersection on the "road of life" and his GPS has gone haywire! Work is great, he's well-respected, driven, and expecting a promotion; he's got a nice apartment in the city, an ex-fiancé who still adores him, good friends, a great family; when suddenly the love of his life, Lydia, walks through the office door, 6 years after they broke up and lost touch, vying for Sam's expected promotion....how do you navigate that??
Ms. Madden masterfully weaves Sam and Lydia's story with just enough nail-biting, "oh my", life road detours to keep you guessing how things will work out. I found myself as perplexed as Sam and Lydia many time while trying to decide who the hero and villain really were, and went through the gamut of love-hate relationship emotions right along with them!
The supporting characters are well-rounded and surprising; and, again, leave you hoping they each get their own book! It was also nice "catching-up" with the whole extended Stanton family, And get a little peek into Rebecca and Marco's life since the end of "Love On The Horizon".
Don't just add Hostile Workplace to your "to be read" list, put it at the top of your "next to read" list!!
Not just another office romance!
That was some crazy ride I was on!!! What I thought was just going to be another book about office romance and hot sex, I should have known better that this was going to be fantastic and be so much more! This book can be read as a stand-alone even though it is part of a series. This book had it all! Humor, angst, betrayal, secrets, lies, hot sex scenes and a very rich story that is terrific! I loved every minute of it!
The characters of Sam and Lydia were well written and developed! Their chemistry is off the charts and the back story is crazy! You are able to connect to them and feel all the feels they do! My heart hurt for them and I felt a lump in my throat on more than one occasion! What those two went through was enough to break your heart! The supporting cast is terrific too! Sam’s ex was a piece of work of such mammoth proportions you have no idea! Cooper, Sam’s brother, is a hopeless romantic and I pray he has a book, I loved him! Liam, Sam’s best friend was laugh out loud funny and the office man slut! OMG he is the cause of some of Sam’s single escapes and is a supportive if not nosy friend! He always wants details! I also want him to have a book! There are other characters from the first book in this series that make their appearances felt and you don’t need to read the first book to read this one, but it sure makes me want to go back and read the first book in the series!
I can’t tell you enough how good this book is! I was so sad when it was over! I don’t want to tell you anything more about it because you need to experience it for yourself! I highly recommend this book!
Wow! This book has so much heart and so many emotions. I loved Sam and, after some convincing, I loved Lydia, too. I didn't want to but I did. Two stubborn, hard -headed people trying to make sense of their lives.
