This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
Since 1990, the Hubble Space Telescope has given the world a new view of the universe. Successful beyond all expectations, the telescope is now more technologically advanced than when it was launched, thanks to the maintenance and upgrades of five NASA space shuttle servicing missions.
Hubble’s scientific contributions appear in textbooks, museums, and media sites worldwide, and Hubble imagery has influenced art, dance, music, cinema, and fashion. This image-packed, fixed-layout eBook provides an overview of the Hubble Space Telescope with sections that briefly describe its history, design, operation, and cultural impact.
Hubble: An overview of the Hubble Space Telescope
I liked this ebook very much. I have had a great interest in science since I was very young. To finally see how very complicated Hubble is and how many people are involved especially the astronauts that did the repair and upgrades. This has to be one of the crowning achievements for NASA. Also to make the ebook available on line free to everyone is very appreciated. Who would of guessed the temperature inside Hubble is 70 degrees Fahrenheit. Great science.
Please send all future rovers up in pairs, so when one gets in trouble the whole world can watch while his buddy saves him.
Thank you NASA
