Description

From New York Times bestselling author Helena Hunting comes I Flipping Love You, a love story about flipping houses, taking risks, and landing that special someone who’s move-in ready.

Rian Sutter doesn’t usually get hit on in the grocery store, but when she notices a sexy man in a suit checking her out, she thinks maybe it’s her lucky day. Either that or the suit has a thing for sweaty, yoga-pant wearing women with excellent price matching skills.

Turns out it’s neither.

Pierce Whitfield can’t believe his luck when he’s able to track down the woman who scratched up the paint job on his car at the scene of the crime. But when he confronts the hit and run hottie, he discovers there’s not just one, but two of them, and he’s been throwing accusations at the wrong twin.

As repair costs are negotiated, and the chemistry between them flares, Rian and Pierce find out they have more than mutual attraction in common. They’re both vying for the same pieces of prime real estate in The Hamptons and neither one plans to give up without a fight.

Can these passionate rivals turn up the heat on their budding romance—without burning down the house?

From Publishers Weekly

Apr 23, 2018 – Hunting (Shacking Up) falters with this standalone contemporary. When Manhattan lawyer Pierce Whitfield mistakenly accuses Long Island realtor Rian Sutter of a parking lot hit-and-run, they are both surprised by the immediate attraction between them. Rian is determined not to let Pierce's relentless pursuit distract her from making enough profit flipping houses in their Hamptons neighborhood to buy her grandmother's old home. Their summer fling intensifies, but deliberate and accidental secret-keeping threaten the burgeoning relationship. This light story relies heavily on the tropes of an antagonistic relationship, but there is little emotional structure built on that foundation. Secondary characters such as Rian's twin, Marley, and Pierce's siblings, Amalie and Lawson, are interesting on introduction but quickly forgotten, and faux conflicts around other possible love interests are little more than clich . Pierce and Rian have backstories that link up in intriguing ways, although key revelations come frustratingly late for the reader. There are hints of potential, but the end result is disappointing.

Customer Reviews

Emotional and wonderful!!!

I received this ARC for an honest review. This book pulled at my emotions. I started this book yesterday and .I could not put it down. It is well written and so GOOD, This book is about Rian & Marley (who are twins), and how they are rebuilding their lives after their parents left them penniless. Rian runs into Pierce at a grocery store when he mistaken Rian for Marley. He wasn't very nice (I am not going to tell you why...you need to read it). Helena Hunting takes us on an emotional journey with Rian & Pierce. I did not want to put this book down. I can't wait for the next book.

This is a fun and sexy romantic comedy in the Shacking Up universe. It's an enemies to lovers story that will have you laughing and swooning at the same time. Though characters in previous books do appear, I Flipping Love You can be read as a stand alone.

Pierce and Rian had incredible chemistry from the start and I loved their witty banter. Things may start off with some instalust, but as the story progresses, I liked that their relationship began to evolve into something more substantial. Don't worry though, there are still plenty of sexy times to keep you swooning! ;)

Both Pierce and Rian are doing their best to avoid their pasts (and some of the present), and though there are a few missteps along the way, I'm glad there wasn't any unnecessary drama or angst. What starts as a summer fling, ends up being more complicated when feelings get involved and past histories are revealed. Will Pierce and Rian be able to get beyond this to find their happily ever after?

I loved the cast of characters in this book, as well as seeing old favorites like Lex and Amalie from Hooking Up again. I especially enjoyed Ms. Barber, who had me laughing so hard at her reaction to Pierce in his lime green banana hammock! No one writes a rom com like Helena Hunting! ;) The epilogue was absolutely adorable and brought the story full circle. Fans of Helena Hunting definitely don't want to miss this one!

Must read!

“I Flipping Love You” follows Amie’s brother, Pierce as he ditches Manhattan for the Hamptons for the summer. Rian and her twin, Marley, are a real estate duo trying to establish themselves in the Hamptons. Through a series of misfortunate events and mistaken identity, Rian and Pierce meet and the chemistry flows off the pages from the first zing. Pierce tries to wear Rian down for a date, but she is stubborn. Eventually, she caves and hopes for a summer fling. This is a must read for Hunting fans. Rian reminds me a little of Violet (“Pucked”) with her gracefulness and ability to always be embarrassed. This was a great story and I hope there’s more to come in the series!
