Maggie Carpenter is ready for a change—and to leave her ordinary life in South Carolina behind. But when she accepts a scholarship to the International School in London, a university attended by the privileged offspring of diplomats and world leaders, Maggie might get more than she bargained for.
When Maggie meets Hugh, a twentysomething British guy, she finds herself living the life she has always wanted. Suddenly she's riding around the city in a Ferrari, wearing borrowed designer clothes and going to the hottest clubs. The only problem? Another guy, the one she can't seem to keep her hands off of.
Half French, half Lebanese and ridiculously wealthy, Samir Khouri has made it clear he doesn't do relationships. He's the opposite of everything Maggie thought she wanted…and he's everything she can't resist. Torn between her dream guy and the boy haunting her dreams, Maggie has to fight for her own happy ending. In a city like London, you never know where you stand, and everything can change in the blink of an eye.
This is a New Adult romance recommended for readers 17 and up.
"I See London is fun, sexy, and kept me completely absorbed." —Katie McGarry, author of Crash Into You
Stayed up all night reading.
I haven't read a book I couldn't put down for way too long until this book came along. I easily related to Maggie she's down to earth has the insecurities a lot of girls do at 19. This is just a well thought out and written book. I'll be telling my friends about it for sure. I can't wait for the next one in the series.
What a great read
This story is unbelievable!! It grips you. All the characters have layers. I cannot wait for the next book. Worth the money.
Review: International School #1: I See London
I See London by Chanel Cleeton is a light-hearted, new adult, contemporary romance with a mostly happily ever after ending and a slight love-triangle situation going on.
Of course, the story can't be finished here, I fully expect more from this couple and hopefully soon.
The main character, Maggie Carpenter, has found her dream guy in Hugh. He's around eight years her senior, but he's everything she's always wanted. Then there's Samir...The complete opposite of everything she's always wanted and he won't get out of her head. There's something about Samir that is calling all her "perfect guy" requirements into question.
There are moments throughout where the sexual tansion between Maggie and Samir are off the charts and it is hard to believe either one can resist, but they do. Maggie sees Samir as a player and won't risk her heart with him.
There were a couple of times I wanted to slap Maggie upside the head and say "Really? What are you thinking?" but I always see it as a plus for the writing quality if I try to interact with imaginary characters.
