But magic has a way of creeping back in.

Now Detective Derek Pierce has to put together the half truths Sam is giving him and the facts of the case that get stranger by the second.
The killer is closer to Sam than she could've imagined and Derek is the only one who can stop him from tearing her family apart, but only if he knows the whole truth. And the whole truth is exactly what could kill him.
**WARNING** This is not a standalone book. Sam and Derek have more stories to tell...
Don't miss this fast-paced, dark and deadly original paranormal romance from Mallory Crowe!
Fantastic new series by Mallory Crowe!!!!!
The Bewitching Hour is book one in the Bewitching Hour serial series by Mallory Crowe. I received this book as an ARC and I'm voluntarily giving my honest review.
Mallory's characters are fantastic in this new series. The main two characters are Samantha a witch that has been denying her heritage refusing to use any magic. Derek Pierce a homicide detective and upstairs neighbor to Sam. Sam decides to help him with a small matter on his recent case. After that everything blows up. The storyline is exciting I can't wait to read more about these characters. Book two is Burning Gold, can't wait to read!!!!!
3.5 stars. The Bewitching Hour is the first book in a new series. This can be read as a standalone but does end in a soft cliffhanger for the next book. It is a quick read so it's perfect for an afternoon sitting outside by a pool, at the beach, or curled up on the sofa. There is violence and witch craft. There is hot steamy sex scenes so 18+.
The book blurb adequately describes the storyline so I'm not going to repeat that all of that info here. This book had a twist on the typical storyline, which I liked. The witch families remind me of mafia families which makes this storyline more interesting. The author did a good job of describing the setting and making the main characters (Sam and Derek) relatable. I do want to find out more about the families and will continue to read the rest of the series.
New series by Mallory Crowe
