Book 1, The Conflicted Series
This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
Theo flies to Athens for a wedding with a plan: stay for the vows, raise a toast, and get the hell back to work. He’s staring down the barrel of the biggest gamble of his career, and can’t afford the distractions of a glamorous city or desirable women; neither of which excite him much anyway.
Until he meets Audrey.
Brilliant, ruthless, and set on conquering the finance world, the young exec would rather be catching a London red-eye, than a mangled wedding bouquet. But when tall, mysterious Theo pulls her onto the dance floor, all thoughts of clients and contracts vanish. The man is intoxicating; his warm touch lingers long after his hands have left her body. They’re from different cities and different worlds—it would never work.
And yet she’s haunted by the brush of his lips against her throat, the delicious press of his body…
But Theo is keeping secrets that could break Audrey’s heart and destroy everything she’s worked for. In this careful dance of power and seduction, has Theo finally met his match?
Conflicted Interest is the first steamy installment of the sensual contemporary romance Conflicted Series, intended for ages 18+.
Genre: New Adult / Contemporary Romance.
Pages: 302 print version.
Buying a romance novel from a debut author is always “iffy”; so many disappoint – Conflicted Interest did not! I plowed through the book in one day, staying up much later than I intended to. Set in Athens, Istanbul, London, and New York City, the main characters, Audrey and Theo, navigate the delicacies of a developing romance, the cut-throat world of financial business intrigues, and the influences of past life circumstances. Audrey and Theo….sigh!
Loved e first book and highly recommend
I didn't have any expectations and certainly didn't expect to be taken in by a world of bankers, billionaires and jet setters. I was looking for a series with a heroine that was on her way in her career. Audrey was unlike other characters I've read. She has a messy past but the will to move beyond it made her special. Her friends seem to make up her family and we only get a few nuggets about her real family. Theo the hero is tricky as you want to love him but his missteps and miscommunication make you nuts. In a good way of course. Steamy rating 8 out of 10. Perfect for me. I heights recommend it

This is the follow up to Starke's original book in the series, Conflicted Interest. There isn't an easy path for Audrey and Theo to come back together after their rupture at the end of the first book, but fate weaves them back together anyway. Not without them working hard and struggling for it first. But they eventually get there and it is sweet.
