Bare your bones
Very good. Lots of twists and turns. I liked the characters also. Can't wait to read next one.
Don’t bother
I just finished book 2 of this trilogy. I won’t be reading book 3. The first book was rather stiff, but I’m always willing to give a second chance to an author I’ve never read before so I went for book two. It didn’t get any better.
The characters are so barely developed, after 2 books I have no real sense of them or who they are. The main police inspector character, Noah, is so wooden and stilted he seems like a robot. The bad guy is so poorly developed you can’t work up even a modicum of dread when he’s in a scene. The main female character, Avery, is just limp and barely “there”.
The dialogue is tedious, the pacing is disorientating, and the plot holes are huge and many.
The main premise of the story is vaguely interesting, but not unique enough to overcome all of the other problems.
I can’t recommend this trilogy.
