The world sings to me but I shut it out, because my parole forbids me from using my power.
I went to prison because I didn’t want to join the Hero Council, become one of the so-called “good guys” and give up my freedom. I just wanted a place where I could be free, with other Empowered “renegades.” My friends died trying to be free, but I was captured and sentenced to Special Corrections.
I just turned twenty-one and been paroled. But a gang wants to use my power for crime, threatening my family when I refuse. A secretive government agency gives me a choice—go back to prison for life, or work for them, and infiltrate a dangerous criminal group.
Not only is my freedom at stake, but the lives of my grandmother, my sisters, and thousands of others are on the line.
The characters are very lovable. The author did a great job and character development. I love secret agent plots. They are deeper than just somebody fighting against their enemies.
I appreciate that the author writes stories. There was little or no sex, drugs or occult
I would say this book is good for anyone older than 12 or 13 years because of the violence and profanity
