A gripping, exquisitely romantic new standalone by New York Times bestselling author Mia Sheridan.
Dane was her first kiss and the only man she ever loved . . . until their marriage crashed and burned. Now Audra has built a quiet life for herself running a flower shop she's put her whole heart into. But Audra is left reeling when an unexpected circumstance brings Dane back into her world. He's still as breathtaking as he ever was, and he still affects her more than any man she's ever known. Yet learning to trust him again could be a matter of life and death . . .
When Dane offers to fly his ex-wife from California to Colorado to help correct a wrong, he never imagined the harrowing twist of fate awaiting them. When their plane goes down in the snowy mountain wilderness, Dane and Audra are stranded with no one to turn to but each other. Will their second crash end their lives—or save their souls?
THIS IS A STAND-ALONE SIGN OF LOVE NOVEL, INSPIRED BY CANCER. New Adult Contemporary Romance: Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.
Mia creates the perfect storm with this second chance romance!
I don't know how Mia does it. She never fails to bring the deepest of emotions into each of her stories. Dane's storm is chock full of feelings that will stretch your heart to the breaking point, and slowly piece it back together by the end.
Dane and Audra experienced something that would bring most people to their knees, and the strain of it broke their marriage apart. Now 10 years later, Audra finds herself having to come face to face with Dane again to seek his help.
We know from the blurb that they end up in a plane crash, so I knew this would be a story of how they try to survive that and get help. I wasn't prepared for all the other things that Mia laid at our feet. The struggle to survive was just one of the obstacles that Dane and Audra faced. They also had to work through what happened in their lives 10 years ago, and all of the strings in the fabric of their lives that were just left to unravel.
Told in past and present chapters, we learn how Dane and Audra met, and what their lives were like "before." We see the challenges they had to face back then, but their love for each other came across so strongly, I would have thought they could overcome anything. Turns out, they didn't, and now here they are, stranded alone together in the wilderness with nothing to do but survive and finally address their past.
I have to say, I was on the edge of my seat while reading, scared at what these two people were going to encounter out there in the wilderness. Would they end up freezing to death? Would some wild animal attack them? Would they starve? It was nerve wracking to watch them struggle. But it was more emotionally nerve wracking to be on the sidelines, watching them talk about their past and what they had hoped for, and what went wrong, and what they should have done differently.
Mia always weaves such a complex, emotion filled story that I know I'm going to be mentally exhausted by the time I finish. And I was. But she totally drew me into this story heart and soul, and I feel like I know these characters so well, and like I want to drop in on them at home to see how they're doing.
What an amazing story Mia! I loved it.
Another pleasure to read from M Sheridan
I love Mia Sheridan’s writing...every single story is so unique. Danes Storm was such a pleasure to read!
Second chance romances are one of my favorites. Audra and Dane experienced so much in this love story. Tragedy & sorrow, love, loss, reuniting...highly recommend this ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Author & story! Loved it!
You Can Do Way Better, Mia!
I detest books with contestant flashbacks. Plus, it’s impossible to like a book when the two main characters are so blah and the plot is slow and boring.
