A world without a Royal… a Royal unaware of his birthright. A prophecy gives hope to the people of Velania, a world being ruled by corruption and dark Magic. Only one person has the right to sit upon the throne and rule over Velania, and he doesn’t even know it.

Plover has spent his life on the streets of Deyell, blissfully unaware that his very existence is a miracle. Upon the thirteenth anniversary of his birth, the Magic that gives Velania life and flows through his very blood surges in a last dire attempt to save all of Velania.

Two Magicians search for Plover, one to destroy him, the other to save him. In a race for his life, Plover, leaves the streets of Deyell for the dubious safety of the world beyond. Joined by his loyal friend, Keaf; his benefactor’s son, Speyd; and Tocarra, a former thief who’s future becomes inextricably tied to Plover’s; these four orphans set off in search of the DragonStar, a stone only visible to one of Royal blood.

Dark Faeries, wild beasts, giant water monsters, a dark Magician, and full army of men ordered to stop them, hinder the foursome as they search for the DragonStar. With the help of Safina, the tiny imp of a Magician, and the kindness of strangers, Plover and his friends fight to defy the dark Magic that threatens to destroy Velania’s heart. Friendships are tested and loyalties tried in an epic battle of Magic and Royal blood - all for a stone that will save the world as they know it.
