Logan never goes back for seconds. Had he known Katie lived in Pamona Gulch when they met, he wouldn't have touched her. With their mutual acquaintances hooking up, she's insisting they should be friends. Logan only has one friend, and it certainly isn't the off-limits woman he's lusted over for the last two years.
Katie is trying to get over Logan. Two years ago, he taught her exactly what BDSM could offer her, and now she's stuck pining for a Dom who won't even speak to her. When she gets involved with the wrong man, Logan is forced to step in, testing their newfound friendship and stretching boundaries.
Tempers flare when authorities capture the arsonist who's been terrorizing the town. Will this new development snuff out the inferno burning in the background of this second-chance romance? Or does it only add fuel to the fire?
Just what I've been waiting for - and more!
After reading the first three books in this series, all I want is Logan and Katie’s story! Fortune’s Kiss also left me wanting more of Logan, so I’m stoked when I realize early in that this is what I’ve been waiting for in more ways than one.
Logan’s got some drama; not too much. Just enough so it adds some mystery to the book for a little while. There’s plenty of sex, good times with friends, the small town I’ve come to love so much. There’s also an ongoing mystery from books past and it really comes to a head in this one.
This one starts with the conflict/drama between the two protagonists and works its way out. Katie is a great character, one of my favorite from this series. Conley built up the drama between this pair in the books leading up to this, so it’s all really fun. They work out one conflict only to turn around and have another so if you enjoy drama, this book is your jam.
To summarize: there’s sex (BDSM), drama, multiple mysteries, small-town stuff - it’s got it all!
Clearly, a lot of effort and research went into the making of this series; Conley doesn’t do anything halfway. The firefighter scenes throughout the series seem real. Events are mostly more plausible than convenient, continuity throughout the series is pretty tight.
Editing/Proofing - completely professional, clean.
Formatting - gorgeous.
Cover- absolutely perfect concept, could be more professionally executed, but it works.
The biggest problem with this book is when it ends, and that goes for the whole series. I want more of this town.
Logan and Katie
Two years ago, Katie wondered into an "interview" with a Dom. After being introduced to the BDSM lifestyle and quite possibly the best sexual experiences she's ever had, she returns home to Pamona Gulch. Katie is the guardian to her teenage brother and business owner. Never in a million years did she ever think she'd see her Dom again. Until...
Logan, a firefighter in Pamona Gulch, has been avoiding Katie for two years. At times, he's been downright hateful to her. He's a one and done kind of guy. Since they share several friends and their friends are all becoming couples, they see each other often. So Katie proposes they become friends, nothing more. When Logan has to rescue Katie from a dangerous Dom situation, he decides he can no longer have her putting herself in danger to get what she needs. So, they become more than friends....When the town arsonist strikes again and initial leads point to Katie's brother, Logan demands she turn him in. Katie's livid, then miserable because she realizes she loves Logan, but can't have him.
This is the fourth novel in the Playing With Fire series. I absolutely LOVED, LOVED, LOVED it! As much as you wanted to punch Logan, you also wanted to wrap your arms around him and give him a great big hug! He was Alpha, but also a big teddy bear. I liked that Katie knew what she wanted and went after it with all she had. While she loved Logan, her brother was family. She never doubted his innocence. Their weaknesses made them stronger! I highly recommend all novels in this series! I read a gifted copy and all opinions stated are my own.
Looking for the fire......
Logan does not do relationships.....nope....not gonna happen!
Katie continues to look for that one man.....the one that sets her blood on fire.
With another arsonist fire and other obstacles thrown in their way, can Logan and Katie find what they’re looking for with each other?
