Fallen (The Transformed Prequel)

This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.

Description

Samantha Erikson is a vampire with one mission: to rule the world. She’s spent decades winning over the world’s most feared vampire, Vince Moretti. Just when everything is going according to plan, he sidetracks her with the assignment of pretending to be a high school student in a small town.

It’s humiliating enough going from stilettos to sneakers, but Samantha must also follow the most boring person alive: the teenage girl who stands between her and the throne. When she has had all she can take, she finds a fun distraction: an attractive football player who isn't scared of vampires, but there's one problem. Against her better judgment, she falls in love with him. Now she must decide between the mortal she adores and a place of power in the vampire world. If she tries to have both, she could lose everything.

This is the prequel to the Transformed series - it can be read independently from the series.

(This novel was formerly two separate novellas: Fallen & Taken.)

Quick and intruiging read

Fallen is a quick read (Novella length), but full of intriguing and essential building blocks. It follows the story of Samantha Erikson, a vampire with her eye on the throne, but she has to stake her claim by taking out a girl who's already supposed to be dead.

First I want to say that the types of vampires, born versus created, intrigued me. It's a nice spin because when you think of born vampires, you think dhampir, but this isn't the case. everything else aligns fairly close to common vampire tales -no sparkles- but I was a bit surprised when they ate real food. No biggie, I love when authors change it up. I mean would you want to drink nothing but blood? Pfft, I know I'd die of culinary boredom.

The romance was sweet and innocent from a steam point level. I'd say this is perfect for the 16+ crowd, but a bit younger wouldn't hurt either. Of course many adults love YA too and sometimes a sweet read is just what the doctor orders. I can't wait to read the rest of the series and see how the story plays out.

Awesome book to a amazing Series
