*A sizzling romance from a USA TODAY BESTSELLING AUTHOR*
*This is a full-length novel (NO cliffhanger)*
After Serena’s boyfriend of six years abruptly leaves her, she indulges in mountains of chocolate. When that doesn’t mend her broken heart, her friends convince her that a night out is just what the doctor ordered.
That night she meets James.
The encounter is breath-taking. Electrifying. And best not repeated.
James is a man who has amassed a fortune by taking risks. He’s charming, seductive…and looking for fun. He's the exact opposite of Serena. But sometimes opposites attract. Sometimes they give in to burning passion. But are they meant for each other?
*No cliffhanger * This novel is recommended for 17+ due to sexual content and mature themes.*
The second book in the series, Found in Us, Jessica and Parker's story, is also out.* Each book in the series can be read as a STANDALONE*
*This is a new edition (June 18th 2015)
Have you ever started reading a book that you can’t stop thinking about after putting it down? You know, when you have to get back to real life and those pesky responsibilities. Yeah, this book did that for me. Work? Who can work when James is about to surprise Serena with another one of his romantic, unpredictable interludes!? I love it when I find a treasure of a book like this. The story and characters just stay with me during and long after I’m finished.
Layla Hagan knows how to grab the reader, keep a tight grip throughout the story, and right when you think the hold loosens she twists and pulls you even further. I can’t wait to read more of her work.
A Great Book!
I loved reading Lost in Us. If you haven't read the prequel novella Lost, I suggest you read it first. You don't need it to read Lost in You but it helps with character development. After reading Lost I knew had had to read Lost in Us. In Lost we meet James and Serena and learn a little about their pasts.
Lost in Us is James and Serena's story. It's starts with Serena meeting James while out drinking a bar. Both James and Serena have pasts that have damaged them.. They seem to be their own worst enemies when it comes to their relationship. I first I wasn't a big fan of James, but as I read on James won me over.
I loved James' friend Parker. He had some great insightful stuff to say to Serena towards the end of the book. I can't wait to read, Found In Us, Parker and Jessica's story.
Lost in Us is a great story and an easy book to pick up and get lost in.
Will there be more?
Two lost souls, with a past that brings on guilt. In a life with to many what ifs, these two souls found difference methods with dealing with their pain. One moved forward obtaining goals to succeed, another my looking for self destruction. Yet faith was set on both souls meeting. James and Serena have both dealt with guilt over the death of a loved one. Yet they found ways to overcome this. It took a while to meet, but once they did it was like two halves finally completing. Both stubborn and set in their ways. It was excruciatingly emotional seeing how these two fumbled through realizing they where each other's answer.
I am not big on spoilers. I am all about what this book pulled out of me. So hear it goes, i never thought I would know what it would feel to lose someone you love so much and feel guilt over, until a little over a year ago. So, when reading Lost and Lost in Us a lot of memories flooded by. It's also hard to see loved ones going through so much pain. So I can openly say getting to know Serena and James was an experience and one enjoyed. The struggles, the fighting, the accepting, and finding the right pat made it so real. Love isn't always perfect. I was so mad when Serena kept finding reasons to stay away from James and there where times I wanted to throw my iPad, or found my fist balling up, but then I realized our love for them makes us behave in stupid ways. I cried with this book, I laughed, and jumped for joy. I have never met a more romantic man, even if he messed up by looking like a player. I would love to read this book through James eyes. I feel like it would make it that much stronger for me.
Lol I posted this in two sites. I am not sure if will convince you to read it, but I personally would like to say please do. Definitely a five star read in books. Layla is a new writer for me. I stumbled into her through a group on Facebook and I am so glad. She will have a fan in me. Thank you Layla for the privilege of this book. It helps in so many ways. I also loved that by pure luck my sister and I where reading your novella lost. We found ourselves teasing each other on what chapter we stopped. Then realized we loved it a lot to read Lost in Us. Can't wait for your next book. Jessica and Parker have me intrigued. I hope to read many more books from you and to my collection.
