An Epic Rock Star Novel
What if you discover the man you want is toxic?
She tasted a little bit of heaven with him, and now they've gone through hell and back, but can their relationship take anymore?
Valerie Quinn is a naive college freshman when she meets on-the-rise rock star Ethan Richards. He's an idealistic, handsome, reckless young man, but he's captured her heart. She doesn't give up on him and eventually his walls crumble down. by the time Valerie has given herself to him completely, she discovers he's damaged and may be beyond help. Can she save Ethan and their relationship before he implodes, or will he self-destruct and take her with him?
What just happened?
I don't think I've ever read a book that was so long and yet so rushed at the same time. With little to no real character development, it's hard to get invested. I kept reading hoping there would be a real story line in there somewhere. Bummer
Ok book but disliked the going back and forth between present day and past. Would have preferred to not know if she ended up with Ethan but you know immediately because of the switching back and forth. Better timeline would make this book better. Tell story from beginning and let story develop naturally. Keeping track of present and past gets confusing.
This was the best free book I've read yet. Yes, it's long, but it's real, too. Despite what most of the terrible romance books will tell you, most of us don't meet someone wrong for us, have mind blowing sex with them, have a 'devastating' fight (which turns out to be a misunderstanding), then live happily ever after all in the first month of knowing each other. I really appreciated the slow burn of this story, and Valerie's struggle to figure out who she is and who she loves reminded me of myself at her age.
I also was glad the author told the past and present day together. I would have been way more frustrated with the characters' decisions if I didn't suspect how the story would end up. This way, I could just enjoy the journey.
I'll be looking for more from this author.
