Parker Blakesley is a powerful businessman. With a company to save, he has no time for distractions. But he can't get Jessica out of his mind. She has a body made for sin, making him want to explore every inch of her. Her laughter and inner light fills a void inside of him, making him long for her love.
Jessica Haydn loves her life. She moved to London, the city of her dreams, and she's working hard to prove herself at her new job. Dating isn't on her radar, and a certain irresistible Brit with too much swagger isn't her type anyway…or so she keeps telling herself. He's ridiculously hot, with that irresistible smile and those custom-made suits.
She should stay away from him. Only he wants her just as much as she wants him…

This book tells the story of Jessica and Parker, two people who think they are too damaged to deserve love. Parker had previously defended Jessica in a bar incident, which resulted in her having a broken leg. During her healing, Parker helped care for her and they grew close, but never gave in to the sexual desire they felt. Parker returned to London to save his family's company, and Jessica lands her after-college dream job working for a museum. Through a little plotting by Jessica's roommate, Dani, they are thrown back together and the sexual tension resurfaces. The rest of the book shows them breaking down each other's defenses to allow the other in to their hearts. What I like most about the book is how it captures the feeling of being in your mid-twenties and struggling with leaving the party life of college behind and becoming a responsible adult. I think many who attended university will relate to that struggle. In relationships, it's also a tumultuous time, when you meet someone and you want to be engulfed by them. Falling in love in your twenties is fast, sexually fueled, and confusing. The author captures this quite well in both Jessica and Parker. The conflicts in the book are mostly internal, with a minor incident at the end that gives a little more insight to everything Parker is trying to conceal. It was really nice that it was not a book where the couple breaks up and gets back together constantly, because while that does happen in real life, it doesn't happen to every relationship. It's possible to stay together and move past your issues without breaking up after every fight. I didn't have a hard time getting through the book, it was a relatively quick and easy read. The sex scenes were lively and nicely detailed. The ability to relate to the characters keeps you going through the story to see that they have a chance at happily ever after. If you are looking for something that isn't too complicated or overwrought with conflict, this is the book for you. It can be read as a stand-alone book. It's not necessary to read Lost in Us to read this one.
The books by Layla Hagen are great! I myself find I am feeling even more romantic with my husband, if possible! They put me in mind of 50 Shades of Grey but better! I preordered the newest book & now I see it would have been free. Dang it!!
Disappointment after the first book, especially since I paid for this one. Nothing really happened until the end. And then the book was over.
