Nia Williams could never have imagined the way her ordinary life would be turned upside down after the death of her grandfather. A chance find unwittingly has her discovering the truth of an ancient Greek myth, plunging her into a world where the legends she only read about in her history books become her reality.
Plagued with a strange link to others’ past, she follows the path of an ancient artifact around the world and throughout time as it reveals its story to guide her to contain powers once thought lost to the rise of modern religion.
Two men affected by the artifact vie for her allegiance; Gabriel, a man haunted by his own past, and smooth talking Viktor who wants Nia to embrace a life she never imagined.
A love sacrificed… An impossible decision…
As lines blur between right and wrong, how much will Nia be willing to sacrifice?
Don't miss out on this one
All you want from a book, especially when noted that it's the first in a series.
Intriguing, not the same old, worn out premise. Used by so many new and some not so new authors, present hoping to hook you into their book long enough that you'll finish just to be done. Then maybe buy the future ones because you want to know if the story gets better.
Ms. Loom has started her first with a story that will grab you, entertain you, and not shove the same old storyline type at you. Her story is a refreshingly new plot, with characters that engage you, more and more as you read. Along with witty, sarcastic conversation pieces that will have you snickering, while thinking "yeah that is exactly what my reply would have been".
The two downfalls to this book?
1. It's a trilogy, which means you have to wait for the next installment, I don't want to wait, I want to read the rest now! Yes, it. Is that good and no I'm not good at waiting.
2. DO NOT under any circumstances start reading this after dinner is done, and the kids are in bed, you won't get any sleep. Start it on your day off in the morning, when you can just sit and read, you will not want to put it down for something as silly as sleep or food.
Having read her work online in another genre, I can't say that I am surprised her first novel would be this good. I am just very glad she put her talent where it belongs, in a book the general masses can enjoy. Also..no I did not get anything for the review nor am I a relative. Just a reader , as yet to be published author who knows a good book when I read one.
