The Good Samaritan: Book One
Approx. 300 pgs
*AUTHOR NOTE* This is the story of two couples, who face unique challenges. When their paths cross, their lives will forever be changed. Written in first person, book one is essentially a prologue, or a platform if you will, for the remaining characters heading into books two and three. It was important for me to write their complete history, to understand their future. This is a unique approach to writing a three-part series. For ease of following the characters, I suggest you pay attention to the sub-headings, especially in the first few chapters as you learn their interesting complexities. This is not a cookie-cutter romance. I hope you will enjoy this suspenseful book one, The Good Samaritan.
Can money really buy you happiness?
What would you do to support your family?
The Macintyre family faces struggles of alcoholism and severe financial hardship after having it all and losing everything. Jeremy is forced into the ranks of the long-term unemployed, destroying his family with his alcohol addiction, and leaving Lizzie Macintyre to provide for the family in a most unconventional way. Just how far is Lizzie willing to go to save her family?
Jack Loving, Jr., of the Loving family, is sole heir to Richmond's most philanthropic family's Trust. He and wife, Victoria, work hard to honor his family's long standing tradition of serving the less fortunate, forcing Jack to sacrifice his lifelong dreams. Jack faces serious challenges when someone close betrays him, turning his world upside down. Can Jack create happiness for himself?
When Jack has a chance encounter with Lizzie, never could they imagine their families would eventually need one another.
This novel is set in the beautiful South of, Richmond, Virginia. It is the first book in The Good Samaritan series.
WARNING: This contemporary erotic romance novel contains extremely graphic adult content and language. It is not intended for individuals under eighteen years of age.
Couldn’t put it down - and it left me wanting more.
This genre isn't one I read regularly - but I'm glad that I've become open to exploring anything. In fact I didn't look at the genre until the book was loaded onto my Kindle Reading App and I'd decided the blurb had me intrigued.
In this story the reader is treated to so much scandal - it is incredibly fun and I didn't realize it until I'd become submerged in this book but, I totally needed some good, scandalous fun.
The characters are well designed and this goes for the main characters and the lesser-seen one all the same. I'm still not sure how I feel about Victoria - gold digging and weak. I think I rather like Lizzie, strong and versatile. I quite like Jack and hope to see more of him ... The point is the characters have managed to stay with me and I am relived that Book 2 is coming soon because Book 1 completely left me needing more. Each character has his or her own drama going on and it manages to bring them into the lives of the others at times. There are some fun, superficial 'problems' as well as real, bigger problems. There are girls nights out with fun conversation, and laugh out loud moments. There's little bit of mystery and some action. Oh and there is hotness.
This book has it all and the only downside was when it ended and left me handing - I'm happy I didnt discover this book until a few days before the release of Book 2.
Writing wise - clearly a lot of care went into this book as it is well written, well edited and physically gorgeous.
