As a child, I believed in the fairytales my father told me.
Until he was gone and with him, that belief.
As a girl, I believed in the friendship and protection of Aden.
He made me begin to believe again.
As a woman, I believed in the possibility of love and passion between myself and Aden.
Until he was gone and with him, my belief in magic and happy endings.
When she was a child, I was tasked with her protection.
As a girl, I became her friend.
As a woman, I could no longer see the child I knew and was forced to fight a growing attraction.
Unable to lie and unable to tell the truth, I left.
Now I’ve returned to give the knowledge I couldn’t before, that she is half Fae.
The darkness is stalking her and I am desperate to teach her what she needs to know to protect herself.
And determined to make her mine.

I was really disappointed in this book. I'd never read anything by this author before and doubt I will again. Actually, I didn't even make it half way through. No real story line, just x-rated language, and sex. Definitely not what I expected.
Eh, not worth the data to download
I had a long review I wrote about this book with details about how this is one of the worst books I've ever read, but I deleted it. Long story short: detestable characters (controlling/semi-abusive hero & pathetic, weak minded heroine), erratic and rushed story line (a conflict that was as if the author forgot every 100 pages there was a conflict only to randomly resolve it in the middle of a chapter, no believable timeline for characters)& gross vocabulary ( he calls her "baby" every other sentence and her ACTUAL name like 5 times-further proof of his gross condescending personality). In short: if you like mediocre fan-fiction or easily accessible fantasy (since everything is like the human world except for like 2 things, the fairy realm diner has waitresses wearing poodle skirts for Christ sake!) this is for you. The sex was ok though, definitely quantity vs quality.
Could have been!
For the people who advocate to speak the truth, their mouth sure need cleaning. It could have been a work of art. And how do protected by by mistakly bait your most valuable, that transition was hastened. Our hero is only good in bed, luck where the book needed him the most, PROTACTION. To his charge, he should have checked on Killiam who also needed protection. Which he could have rejected or well protacted by his guardian, seeing that his input is kind of blur and existence insignificant in the book.
