Comedian, activist, and hugely popular culture blogger at, Luvvie Ajayi, serves up necessary advice for the masses in this hilarious book of essays

With over 500,000 readers a month at her enormously popular blog,, Luvvie Ajayi is a go-to source for smart takes on pop culture. I'm Judging You is her debut book of humorous essays that dissects our cultural obsessions and calls out bad behavior in our increasingly digital, connected lives. It passes on lessons and side-eyes on life, social media, culture, and fame, from addressing those terrible friends we all have to serious discussions of race and media representation to what to do about your fool cousin sharing casket pictures from Grandma's wake on Facebook.

With a lighthearted, razor sharp wit and a unique perspective, I'm Judging You is the handbook the world needs, doling out the hard truths and a road map for bringing some "act right" into our lives, social media, and popular culture. It is the Do-Better Manual.

From Publishers Weekly

Jul 04, 2016 – Ajayi, the voice behind the pop culture blog Awesomely Luvvie and the cofounder of the Red Pump project, an HIV/AIDS awareness nonprofit, writes with humor and intelligence about a range of topics, including personal hygiene, social media etiquette, racism, sex tapes, rape culture, plastic surgery, weight, homophobia, reality television, feminism, and even the Comic Sans font. The book is a light, 21st-century discussion of manners and morals, with Ajayi taking people to task for oversharing on social media or for being casually bigoted. The the book has a strong social message and is funny Ajayi includes footnotes explaining her made-up words and expressions but the material is a little too familiar and far reaching. Ajayi is at her best when she delves into her personal experiences as a Nigerian immigrant in the U.S. and combines humor with pathos; this honesty makes the book worth reading.

Must Read!!!

This is a must read! Thoroughly enjoyed this book! It was funny, addressed real issues and challenged you to find ways to serve by doing what you can. Luvvie has a voice and she is using it to make the world a better place. She is full of wisdom and is doing dope things. Love her work!!!

Just Ok

Overrated. Don’t get the audio version. She is speaking as if she’s rushing. Way too fast.

iSweaterGod this book is AMAZING

I thoroughly enjoyed this manual on how to do better and be better in the 21st century. I was raised pretty strictly, so none of it was news to me, but I'm pretty sure there are people out there who are in desperate need of Luvvie's tutelage.

I started following her in Facebook and wound up buying her book - the first book I've paid for in 2 years, mind - because I feel like she is totally someone I could get along well with.

She has a no holds barred approach to bad behavior which is how I roll, too. I've been known to give some good side-eye in my time and I can appreciate that ability in others.

Buy the book. You know you want to!
