Amazing, A Must For Everyone!

I don't often write reviews but I was compelled to for this wonderfully amazing book by Robby Benson.
This book is so insightful and compelling that I could not put it down and am now re-reading it.
My dad had 2 open heart surgeries long ago which he did not talk about very much.
I knew how difficult my dads surgery was on my mom and I and learning to cope. Now after listening to THIS iBOOK I have a much better understanding on what my dad must have went through all those years ago.
I truly wish this iBook had been around when my dad had his first and then much later his second Open Heart Surgery so I could have seen things more through his eyes and understood more from his perspective .
Thank you so much Mr. Benson for writing this book, now I have a much better understanding.
This is a must for everyone and an outright wonderful book in so many ways. It will make you laugh, cry, smile and wish it would never end.

Heart and Soul

Billed as a medical memoir, conceived to help people with similar challenges, don't let that mislead you. Robby Benson's "I'm Not Dead...Yet!" has something valuable to say to everyone.

The author's kind spirit, evident from the first word, is one you'll not want to disengage from. It's obvious why Mr. Benson and Ms. DeVito are devoted to each other, and their fans will find certain validation that their fondness is well founded. Robby's compassion and ethos are waaay off the charts, and well... everyone should have a Karla DeVito.

Enriched with medical information, harrowing cautionary tales, and links to essential resources, the story is not all clinical. There is a lot of entertaining and endearing autobiographical material before and inbetween episodes where the story turns to his health. By that time, you like him so much that it's become personal. You're there with him, and you care. He is brave and considerate to a fault, using his uber-compassion and humor to protect you from freaking out over the ordeals he's endured.

Robby recalls an exemplary, challenged and accomplished life, with absolute humility and good humor. For anyone with a heart, it is impossible to put the book - or the man - down. We should all be so lucky to have such people in our lives. But they're right here for you in this book.

Mr. B has worked so hard to include a lot of creative enhancements that make this stand head and shoulders above most eBooks out there. As you go through the book, there are great pictures (mostly taken by Robby himself) and and whimsical images that lighten the mood throughout. There are songs performed by Robby and wonderful Karla! (including two rare Karla tracks that were lost for over 25 years) Various links appear to helpful medical info, making this a fine resource. Film clips from Robby's movies, and beautiful calming slide shows he has created from his original photos, make this an exceptionally entertaining and interactive experience.

The enhanced iBook version (including all the songs, film clips and slide shows, operating as intended by the author) is available only for the iPad through Apple. The quality and value of the writing itself are well the iTunes price. The enhancements make that price a ridiculous bargain that you should take advantage of now before it goes up to what it's really worth - so get it now and tell your friends!

Absolutely love this book

I highly recommend this amazingly heartfelt and personal book by Robby Benson. It's a must read for any heart patient or for others who are going through some sort of medical trauma. This book offers a new perspective on how to handle medical challenges (large or small). Not only is this book a great read, but it's wonderful how the story weaves between music, videos, photos and slideshows. Thanks Robby for the hope and inspiration!
