Emmie Elliot hadn’t expected to come back to Metlin, California. She definitely didn’t expect to stay. She returned to her childhood home with a mission: Sell the building that housed her grandmother’s book store and move on with her life.
But life doesn’t always go according to plan.
To reopen her grandmother’s book shop, Emmie will need a hook. She’ll need a strategy. She’ll need an… Ox?
Miles Oxford doesn’t have much interest in quiet bookstore owners. He’s a tattoo artist without a space to work, and the last thing he wants is to get involved with anyone after his last disaster of a relationship. Work and pleasure don’t mix for Ox, but since he doesn’t have any interest in the cute girl with the bold business proposal, he should be safe from any awkward complications, right?
She sells ink. He tattoos it. Unusual? Yes. But a book shop/tattoo studio might be the ticket for both Emmie and Ox to find success on their own terms. As long as they keep their attention focused on business.
Just on business.
INK is a brand new, stand-alone contemporary romance by Elizabeth Hunter, author of the Elemental Mysteries, the Irin Chronicles, and other works of fiction.

Sugar and Spice
Sugar and Spice. And everything nice…and a little not so nice is how I would describe this book and its characters. It’s a nice sweet story with a little bit of an edge to it. Just a little tiny bit.
I guess this book would be considered a New Adult Contemporary Romance, which is not Elizabeth Hunter’s usual genre but she is such a great story teller the category doesn’t matter. I loved the theme of this book, set in a small town family owned bookstore…with a tattoo parlor inside??? Crazy idea you think? Well, I used to work in a family owned small town bookstore, and I think this would be a great business. I think it would really work!
But aside from the cute business idea, the love story, the characters, and humor in this book is good and it’s a great cozy read but not at all corny. Did I mention the love story? Well, Emmie and Ox are the main characters and their story unfolds slowly but it’s also a nice slow burn. Such a good burn. The secondary characters are SUPER interesting and I cannot wait for the next book, Hooked, to come out.
Bottom Line: It’s Elizabeth Hunter. Period. You cannot go wrong.
This book is by EH?? Really?
First, I would like to add that I’ve been reading EH books for some time now. I’ve read the Irine Chronicles, all the Elemental books (yes, all of them) and I tried one Cambio Spring book(sorry I did not like it) and now, this new book that it seems it was the beginning of a new series.
I did not like this story at all. It was so predictable. I have read stories like this one before. The ones where the heroine has low self esteem, falls for the bad boy, bad boy falls for the shy, low self esteem girl, blah,blah,blah....I did not recognized the author at all. My imagination did not run wild like her other stories do for me, the sex scenes where very unexpected. Like I said before, I’ve read most of her books and this is the first time she’s explore with this subject in more detail. Don’t get me wrong, I like the hot and passionate love scenes but it felt different for me. I can’t quite explain it, almost as this had been written by someone else, not your favorite author that you’ve come to know. I gave this book 3 stars because it lacks character depth, grammar error ( yes, there were 2. I counted) and ingenuity.
I’ll, stick with her paranormal books.
Most Excellent Read!
