Hello. My name is Psychology.

What is hope?  Is it uniquely human?

With Government’s permission, I have created a new experiment to determine the role that hope plays in the lives of our human subjects.  Carl Winston and Eva Thompson are selected because of high hope scores on their yearly psychological exams.  Once their implants are turned off, they will see the world as it truly exists.

They will be placed in extreme circumstances, with only hints of a brighter future dangling in their path.  I will monitor them.  My hypothesis is that they will succumb to the bleakness of their world.  From this experiment, I will determine the importance of hope in our subjects’ lives.

Thank you for your participation in this program.
