Janice is a poorly educated, physically abused young woman who finds herself alone, with a black eye and a small child, with no place to go but back to her questionable roots.
Life is hard, but life is also sweet, as are the people who love her.
This story is about survival, about love and hardship, but most of all about her indomitable spirit.
