Jager Hannover, a former SEAL, has recovered from the damage done when his squad's truck drove over an antitank landmine more than two years ago. Six other team-mates were also badly injured, the seventh--Mouse--dead, in what their team leader Badger Horley realized later had to be a trap. On the hunt for answers about Mouse's history and the one who set up the trap, Jager ends up in Vail, Colorado.
He followed Mouse's best friend here only to discover he's already disappeared, leaving a trail of death in his wake. Getting himself to this particular place wasn't easy as it's also where his parents died in a tragic accident. While on a cross-country road trip, their motorhome went off a corner of the mountain and plunged them to their deaths. Considering the information he's found thus far, he fears this was no accident.
Allison Monroe is a police officer in Vail, Colorado. Her husband, who was also a cop, died a couple years ago in a skiing accident. Staying in the place where her dreams were shattered has given her time to sort out her grief and evaluate the direction she wants to go with her life. Getting caught up in Jager's investigation of someone she knows only as a party animal and womanizer isn't what she intended, but the attraction between the two of them is instant and undeniable. Passion turns to deadly purpose in a race against time when they follow a killer to Santa Fe, where he's hunting badgers…

The last book
Ahh, it’s the last book. Sad to see it end as much as I wanted the mystery solved!
Jager is the last single man standing. Ha!
He needs to solve these murders and the mystery just as much as the others.
He travels to Colorado in search of answers to his own parents deaths.
There he meets Allison who is a cop who wants to help. She’s healing from a loss herself.
Together they get wrapped into more mystery in search of what really happened to jager and his unit.
****tje ending is worth it!

Can I just say WOW as to the culprit? This series has led us on a chase around the world in search of who was responsible for the killing of one SEAL and wounding 7 others in a land mine explosion. While each book has answered some questions, but raised many more. Also within each book, a SEAL was also able to find his HEA. This book was the culmination of the search.
I just loved this book. Jager was able to find his lady love in Allison (a Vail, Colorado police officer). I can't wait for the eight installment of this series. I truly hope that the series continue with more SEALs coming on board like Allison suggested to them (similar to the other series from this author). I would hate to not read about some of these characters.
I HIGHLY recommend this series to anyone. You really need to start at the beginning with Badger to get the most out of this series.
This is book 7 in the SEAL’s of Steel series and it features Jager and Allison. For being a full length novel this story moves pretty fast. The mystery and suspense part of the story line was sometimes confusing as some of their logic didn’t make sense but the romance part of the story line was FABULOUS! It was a subtle attraction that once it sparked, it burned like a wildfire. She describes him as broody, dark and somber but he’s also sexy as sin, dedicated and did I say sexy? I think it is so amazing to watch each of these SEAL’s fall for that one special woman.
After reading that epilogue I’m super excited for the next book!
