James Patterson Witch & Wizard: Battle for Shadowland

This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.

Description

In a blink of an eye, their world has changed, with the oppressive New Order declaring all magic as evil incarnate! In this action-packed first issue spinning out of best-selling author James Patterson's #1 novel, sibling teenagers Whit and Wisty Allgood use their newly discovered magical powers to infiltrate into enemy territory of the New Order to gain control of the inter-dimensional Shadowland. Witch and Wizard is a brand-new series taking best-selling author James Patterson's hit characters from the Witch and Wizard novel on all-new exciting adventures.

From Publishers Weekly

Nov 01, 2010 – Filling the gap between the first two volumes of Patterson's bestselling Witch and Wizard series, this original graphic novel finds teenagers Whit and Wisty Allgood (no subtlety there!) using their newfound magical powers (inherited from their parents) to fight the New Order, an oppressive dictatorship now running the U.S. In this caper, the siblings must go on various highly dangerous missions into both New Order Territory and another dimension known as the Shadowland. Of course, being teenagers, there are various emotional subplots among the teammates, including Whit's longing for his girlfriend, Celia, who is now a ghost. Although fans of the prose series will probably give this a look, they might not be entirely sold. Santos creates likable character designs, but his art is garish and confusing in many places, with no sense of world building. It's also completely out of character for the grim dystopian feeling of the novels and oddly unsuited for what is basically a nonstop action story. Ages 12 up.

Customer Reviews

Comic?

I was very disappointed after buying this. It's a comic book. Not that I mind comics, but not at all what I was expecting. Can't say as to the story because I haven't finished yet.

Really????

Enjoyed the 1st book.. So automatically bought the 2nd.. I should have read the reviews B4 I did, then I might have known it was a comic book...! The captions are tiny and hard to see and you can't enlarge the font..!..very dissapointing.. The rest of the books are books, so why a comic book in the middle of a series?!?

Witch and Wizard: Battle for Shadowland

Hated the comic strip view!!! Extremely difficult to read on ipad!!!! Read the reviews prior but seriously thought that the comic book was a joke! I definitely know next time to not waste a penny on such garbage.
