Kissing Tolstoy

I finished this in a day, at the sacrifice of some cleaning, but who cares? I always find this author’s books refreshing and smart with great character development, and she didn’t disappoint. I think I might even read some Russian literature, something that never interested me before.

Kissing Tolstoy is a fun, clever, and satisfying read.

I generally stay away from the Teacher/Student trope because it is so often creepy as hell. Maybe it's because I've never had a single teacher or professor I found remotely hot. Or maybe it's because I dislike huge inequities in power, authority, and age in my HEAs. While Kissing Tolstoy had a 10 year age gap between the characters and, obviously one of the characters was a professor the book didn't have a predator and prey dynamic. (Thank God, because ick.)

By the end of the novella I had no doubt that Luca and Anna would have been perfect for each other no matter what age, job or background they had. If Anna would have been the older professor and Luca the student they still would have worked just as well. They did not work because Luca had some schoolgirl fetish and Anna had a deep seeded need to be dominated in a relationship. They just belonged together because their personalities and passions complemented each other perfectly. Plus, I bet their kids would be seriously beautiful and brilliant.

I would recommend this novella to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance.

Kissing Tolstoy is hot. So hot. The fire and passion between Luca and Anna had me burning. Nothing is getting done today, because, for the first time ever, I’m doing an instant re-read and I have no regrets.
