Description

Kitty Gordon was a famous musical theatre actress, singer, vaudevillian, silent film star and beauty who was active in the entertainment field from 1901-1921. The sculptor Auguste Rodin considered her the most beautiful woman in the world. Her films were played alongside those of Charlie Chaplin and Douglas Fairbanks. One of her 21 silent films, “Tinsel” (1918), still exists for viewing. Her colourful husbands included Michael Levenston, a Victorian theatre manager and Captain Beresford, brother of Lord Decies. This book brings to light a long-forgotten star of another era.
