Irreverent, cocky, playful and naughty.
He’s not the guy you date.
He’s the one night stand.
The one your mother warned you about.
The one your body craves.
You’d think the man who called me succulent would want to strip me down and spread me out on his bed—like he’s done with countless others.
But he passed on my offer….
Just like I’d once passed on his.
He’s wary, like I am.
He’s broken, like I am.
And everyone knows two broken parts can’t ever make a whole.
Tahoe and I are strictly friends.
So I distract myself with other men.
He doesn’t think my new man is good enough. This blond blue-eyed beast doesn’t think any man is—himself included.
But the more time we spend together, the more confused I feel.
I'm trying to open myself to love.
Yet I'm quickly realizing that the only man I want is Tahoe Roth.
The one man who will surely break my heart.
A sexy new contemporary romance from New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Katy Evans. Although connected to the Manwhore Series, this book can be read as a standalone.
Tahoe Is Divine
There are fears in your life that neither you nor any man on this Earth can spare you from. Fears so deeply entrenched, there is no corner in your soul to hide, no way of escaping them. They grab you, own you, squeeze the life out of you, until you wake up sweating in the middle of the night, in tears, and you're frantic to touch the ground beneath you because you still feel like you're falling...and falling...a never-ending drop. Until a painfully hard surface breaks your fall. That hard surface, for me, is Tahoe Roth.
In LADIES MAN, the third book in the Manwhore series, author Katy Evans has given us another of her signature alpha men with a complex and enigmatic back story. Tahoe Roth is the consummate ladies' man. Larger than life, he works hard and plays hard, attracting women effortlessly, refusing to be tied down by any of them. Like a moth to the flame, Gina finds herself as drawn to him as the others, even while knowing that he is no good for her.
This book is rife with sexually charged scenes, and, I am telling you, they will leave you hot, bothered, and in search of a fan and a new set of panties (Two words: outdoor shower. Gah!). LADIES MAN fairly sizzles with the chemistry between Tahoe and Gina, two people that, despite their best intentions, cannot stay away from each other. Watching them find their uneasy way to each other is like a delicious unwrapping, one step at a time, something that Katy has often used in her writing, and which drives me crazy in the best possible way.
I love the evolution of the relationship between Tahoe and Gina, the way that they bring out the best in each other, even while calling what they have anything other than what it is becoming. The scenes between the two of them, even when they're doing nothing but spending time together as friends, are palpably emotional and just plain hot.
This book is an easy 4.5 stars for me. The story grabbed me immediately, and I found myself completely invested in both Gina and Tahoe, not wanting to stop reading until I got my answers. LADIES MAN is a definite must-read, and will have you alternately wanting to cheer, yell, throw your book, and grab a cold shower. Do yourself a favor, and do not wait to snap this book up right now. I guarantee that you will not be sorry.
Katy Evans has done it AGAIN
Katy Evans has done it again! She has brought a story to the table that left me completely breathless. Not only was it a great story about a man who changes for the right woman, but it wasn’t insta-love! She had them become the best of friends before they realized that they were in love with each other. Katy even had them seeing other people, but they would drop everything and change their plans just to help the other out!
Ladies’ Man is Gina and Tahoe’s story from the Manwhore series and I am so absolutely in love with this story! It picks up about a week after Malcolm and Rachel’s wedding which is also Tahoe’s birthday. The story plays out for a little over a year, and it has you feeling so many different things that it left me breathless. I now love Tahoe the way I love Malcolm, Remy, and Maverick. The backstory that comes out for the way he is made me cry like a baby, but the way he was so protective of Regina left me doing a happy dance. Plus, I loved the way he never called her Gina…it was always Regina.
Waiting for the next story for Callan and Livvy is going to be torture, but I know that it is going to leave me just as fulfilled as all the rest of the book Katy has written. Thank you Katy for being an amazing author who never lets her readers down!
Review: Manwhore 3: Ladies Man
Ladies Man by Katy Evans is the third book in her Manwhore series but is a standalone story. It is better to read the series in order but you could jump right in and read Ladies Man and not feel like you've missed too much of the pre-story. This is the story of Tahoe "T-Rex" Roth and Regina "Gina", they are best friends with, respectively, Malcolm Saint and his new wife Rachel.
This book is really well-written. It is descriptive without being overly so, it spans a year or so in the lives of Tahoe and Gina and it manages to traverse that time-frame without rushing through anything. Whereas Tahoe is an absolute ladies-man (hence the title) he is also a VERY nice, well-mannered guy. All women know what they are getting into when they sleep with him and are beyond okay with this. Gina is friends with Tahoe in a way no other woman is. He respects her, and values her, so much so that he has turned her down once already.
Ladies Man is all about the slow-build. The slow-build of their feelings for each other, of each characters own personal development into a stronger and more self-aware character, and finally into the happily ever after moment. Gina has had a lot of crap to deal with in her personal life and Tahoe's respect for her and what is best for her is evident. Told solely from Gina's perspective, we, as a reader, get to see the signals Tahoe puts off making his interest evident even when Gina is willfully oblivious to these same signals. Loved it!
