Once you're a star, can you trust other people’s intentions?
Scott Cassidy has lived a blessed life. Growing up in Laguna Beach with a loving family, he was discovered in high school when he appeared on the popular reality TV show, Laguna Nights. Now cast as a doctor on the number one soap opera, his star keeps rising. Finally free from his long-term girlfriend, Scott isn’t looking for love, but when a popular dating app matches him with Jamie Kane, he can’t deny the sparks. But is she really everything she seems?
Jamie Kane isn’t lucky in love or life. Her childhood was tumultuous with a single mom who moved to Hollywood for fame but ended up waiting tables in Malibu. Certainly not one of the spoiled kids she went to high school and college with, Jamie has worked hard to achieve her dreams of being an actress, even as she begins to realize it’s not her calling. Jamie believes Scott may be the answer to everything unless a past mistake makes him doubt their future together.
Is the price of fame the chance at true love?
***Laguna Sights can be read and enjoyed as a stand alone novel. And if you enjoy Scott and Jamie's love story, please consider reading the rest of the Laguna Beach series.
Laguna Nights (Laguna Beach Book 1), Madison and Josh's story

Matched for love....or not?
I received an ARC in exchange for a honest review.
This is a novel about two people meeting via a dating app. He is a successful actor, while she is a woman not sure what she wants to do in life. When the novel begins, she's living for free at her best friend, Amanda's house. Amanda comes from a very wealthy family, where Jamie did not. In fact, Jamie's mom doesn't even acknowledge her unless she needs money. Jamie's mom was an aspiring actress who moved her daughter to Malibu to pursue acting, but never made it. Jamie wants nothing to do with her mom, but doesn't stand up to her, allowing her mom to bully her.
Scott is a successful actor, Dr. Drake, who finds Jamie refreshing, kind, and everything his ex is not! His last relationship ended badly and he didn't want a "rebound" relationship. Then he's "matched up" with Jamie on the app. Scott is also the co-owner of a travel agency with his parents. Scott finds it hard to balance being an actor and the travel agency. Then his office worker at the travel agency quits. In steps Jamie...
This novel has a few twists in the end, but was an easy, enjoyable read. It is a stand alone novel, but I do feel like I missed a bit of the back story from previous novels. I also thought it a bit "rushed" in the end when Scott takes Jamie to meet his parents and they offer her ___. I don't want to spoil it, but it seemed unbelievable as they had just met her. Otherwise, a very good novel.
Fun on Laguna Beach
Laguna Sights by Kaira Rouda is the fourth book in her Laguna Beach series.
This was a fun stand alone read which did not require reading the previous 3 books to follow.
Scott Cassidy gets his long overdue closure from his previous long term girlfriend and the relief is clear as he comes to accept how toxic their relationship was for him. He has a fresh start and a dream job, playing a doctor on a long running soap opera in LA. Scott met Jamie Kane through a dating app.
Jamie is the opposite of Scott. Forced to move by her mother who wanted fame, she is not privileged. She always felt out of place with the spoiled kids she grew up with and doesn’t know if her dream of becoming an actress is what she really wants. She no longer talks with her mom because of everything she put her through and is living with her best friend. The only time she sees her mother is when her mother needs money, but she hasn’t had the courage to stand up to her and refuse her yet.
Scott and Jamie had a fun first date, but life gets in the way and he doesn’t call her back. When she didn't hear from him she began to worry he was no longer interested. She is ready for a new relationship after getting out of a relationship with her abusive ex. However, there’s a secret from that experience which she hasn't told anyone. She decides to call Scott and again they have a great time together. In addition, Scott really needs her help with his other job, running the family travel agency, and Jamie needs the fresh start he can offer.
I really liked that both characters had to previously deal with a verbally abusive ex. It’s incredible how much damage verbal abuse does to a person, man or woman. Jamie's secret is kept from the readers so while we get a chance to like her from listening to her thoughts, even we don't know the details until the end of the story. It was inspiring to see the characters realize these faults and forgive themselves for their bad decisions and choosing to make healthier ones as they move forward.
This was a fun and entertaining romance with likeable characters that you want to root for and don't feel bogged down pitying. The feel was very hopeful throughout the book and I really enjoyed reading it. I highly recommend this but felt it was a little rushed at the end.
I’ve been reading all the Laguna series and love them all. This one is just as the others….awesome. You can read this as a standalone but since they are all so great, you’ll want to read them all. When I read a book there are certain things I like in it; love, laughter, a little bit of aggravation, tears, and surprise. This book had it all.
The story was about the main character, Scott Cassidy who was an actor since his high school days in the reality TV show Laguna Nights. Now he was a doctor on a daytime soap opera. He accepted a date from a dating app which matched him up to a totally opposite person Jamie Kane. Since he was free from his long time girl-friend he wasn’t looking for a relationship but his date with Jamie changed that when sparks fly. Jamie was from a very poor family and not very lucky in love. She tried hard to be an actress but wasn’t succeeding. Maybe Scott was the answer to her dreams? But then do dreams really come true?
This was given to be for an honest review and I highly recommend this one and all the Laguna series.
