Book 4, Worth the Fight
This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
Perfect for fans of Katy Evans and Sarah Castille, Sidney Halston’s scorching new MMA romance proves there are no holds barred when it comes to seduction.
As an Army brat, Violet Channing could never meet her dad’s high expectations. But in the eyes of her best friend, she could do no wrong. He even insisted that he should be her first kiss. Now Cain Sorensen is all grown up, hardened by years in special ops and always looking for a good fight. Tall, with striking blue eyes and impossibly blond hair, he’s a modern-day Viking warrior. Of course, Violet’s all grown up, too, and she’s ready to surrender to his every command.
Cain knows he’s bad for Violet. His work is dangerous, and his hobbies are downright deadly. As a private mercenary and a mixed martial arts fighter, he could never let such an innocent soul into his world. And yet his most grueling combat training is no match for Violet’s killer curves, hot touch, and suggestive glances. Now all of Cain’s most explosive fantasies are coming true—but once they cross the line between friends and lovers, there’s no turning back.

When they were kids, it was always Cain, Jeremy and Violet. After high school the boys enlisted and both had fallen in love with Violet. One stepped to the side and the other pursued her. Tragedy struck and survivors guilt was too much for Cain to handle. He loved her but he's fighting something so strong within himself and it's a constant struggle, pulling her in one minute and pushing her away the next. We don't learn until later in the story why Cain's demons are so strong. The emotions between these two are extreme and it's heart wrenching to watch them fight it. These two are best friends always on the verge of more. The story has one of the most extreme fervid "porn watching" scenes I've ever experienced while reading.
The emotions running through this story were extreme and brought tears to my eyes several times. This author definitely knows how to write her MMA fighters. This is book 4 in the Worth the Fight series and I can't wait to read more.

I've never read Sidney Halston's books before and I was leery starting with book 4 in a series, but you know it worked. Could I have used more info on the supporting cast...sure, but it didn't deter from the storyline. Laid Out- have to say I was totally mislead by the title, I was expecting more MMA, and don't get me wrong it's in there. But it's so much more...Laid Out is deeper as in laying your soul bare. The story centers on Jeremy, Cain and Violet. Army brats and best friends since they were in diapers. The boys are 3 years older and enlist as soon as they graduate and leave Violet behind. Violet loves them both, but she is secretly in love with Cain, but both boys are in love with her. While away Jeremy makes his move on Violet and Cain steps aside. Then the unthinkable happens...Jeremy doesn't make it back. The story focuses on how Cain and Violet deal with the loss of Jeremy, letting go of the past, healing and moving forward. Sexy Steamy Passion
This is the first story of Sidney Halston that I have read but it definitely will not be my last. I loved this story. It was something I wanted to devour, yet also wanted to take my time on because I didn't want it to end. I felt the joy, the heartbreak, the loss, the guilt, the jealousy, the attraction and the complete love that emitted from these pages. All the emotions that these characters face only make them more real and realistic.
Violet Channing, "Sunshine" is a breathtaking beautiful woman inside and out who is wholesome, naive, positive, loyal, loving and the best friend that anyone could ask for. She is trying to move on after her fiancé and best friend Jeremy Edwards, died in war. But although her best friend keeps setting up blind dates for her, Violet is unable to find that special someone.
Cain Sorensen was Jeremy Edwards' best friend as well as Violet's growing up. He gave Violet her first kiss and then left her. He is no longer an army ranger he is now in the International Military Coalition, using everything he learned in the military. Cain is loyal, sexy, hot and is struggling day to day with his guilt and anger about losing his best friend Jeremy and having to be around Violet. Because the woman, he has always wanted is also the only woman he absolutely can't have, and she wants him just as fiercely.
Can they settle for anything less than the love of their life. You will have to read to find out. Deeply emotional, heartbreaking and poignant. I fell in love with Cain and Violet and the push and pull that they had on each other, it made for some really nice chemistry and steaming passion. Loved how this all played out. Highly Recommended!
