#2, The McAdams Sisters: A Small-Town Romance
This book can be downloaded and read in iBooks on your Mac or iOS device.
Peyton McAdams doesn’t want a thing to do with Colt Patterson…except she has had a crush on him since they were little. Recently, they also had a nice little romp in the shower together. But Peyton thinks she’s just another notch in Colt’s belt and is determined NOT to fall in love. Love is just a game and it destroys people. She decides to focus solely on the new all natural soap store she’s opening with her sisters and NOT on Colt Patterson.
Colt Patterson is Willow Valley’s hometown hockey hero…or rather fallen hero. He is trying to make sense of his recently ruined life and his attraction to Peyton throws off his plans to wallow in his apartment, drinking away his sorrows. He finds himself drawn to her…and back to Willow Valley.
Can Colt and Peyton keep their fiery attraction to a dull roar and commit to just being friends or will the temptation be too strong to keep them apart?
“Lakeshore Legend” is the second in the “By The Lake” series, about the McAdams sisters, from author Shannyn Leah.
This book can be read as a stand alone, but for more enjoyment read them in the order of the series, as all the characters appear in future books.

This Series is Great
I absolutely loved this book. It was wonderful. This is the second book in the series that I have read. And, it is my intention to read all the books in this series. I love this story about Colt and Peyton. There were lots of very funny parts where I laughed out loud. I enjoyed the teasing and the wit displayed by both Colt and Peyton as well as that shared between the McAdams sisters. There was a lot of suspense and emotional parts as well. I also loved the relationship between Colt's Mother, Elaine and Peyton's Father, Kent. Kent had, had a terrible time after the death of his wife and had slipped into alcoholism and had overcome it. It was nice that he could get love and joy back into his life. And, Elaine had, had to raise her son Colt alone after her husband had selfishly run out on her and their son. So that was a joyous part of this book as well. I liked the feistiness of Elaine especially towards her son. I like how she let him have it after his initial response to Peyton's pregnancy.
In the first book there were parts that I reread over and over because I liked it so much. Well it is the same in this book. Another thing I liked is how all the characters in the book have been so well developed. At no time did I feel the story was rushed and I felt it ended well and I liked that.
And, I have to share the funniest parts of the book. The McAdams sisters did not know yet that their Father, Kent and Kurt's Mother Elaine were an item yet. And, Kate and Peyton walked in on their Father and Elaine making whoopee. That whole scene was so funny. It reminded me of the scene on the TV show, "Friends" where Lisa Kudlow walked in on something similar and shouted, "Oh my eyes, my eyes! It was so funny!!!
