Love, betrayal, and sweet revenge—life in Cottonbloom is about to get a whole lot hotter in Laura Trentham's Leave the Night On . . .
Sutton Mize is known for lavishing attention on the customers who flock to her boutique on the wealthy side of her Mississippi town. So when she finds a lace thong in her fiancé’s classic cherry-red Camaro, she knows just who she sold it to: her own best friend. In an instant, Sutton’s whole world goes up in flames. . .
Wyatt Abbott has harbored a crush on Sutton since he was a young kid from the other side of the tracks. He witnessed Sutton’s shocking discovery in the Camaro at his family-owned garage—and it made him angry. What kind of man could take lovely, gorgeous Sutton for granted? But then Sutton comes up with an idea: Why not give her betrothed a taste of his own medicine and pretend that she’s got a lover of her own? Wyatt is more than happy to play the hot-and-heavy boyfriend. But what begins as a fictional affair soon develops into something more real, and more passionate, than either Sutton or Wyatt could have imagined. Could it be that true love has been waiting under the hood all along?
LEAVE THE NIGHT ON
Chemistry explodes when Ms. Prim and Proper meets Sexy Bad Boy! Really enjoyed this story! It was exciting, sweet and oh so sensual! From the very beginning you're drawn in to see what will become of Sutton's situation, and as she and Wyatt spend more and more time together, you really fall for them as a couple.
Native to Cottonbloom, Sutton Mize has a ritzy boutique on the uppity Mississippi side of the river where she caters to the upper class she's part of. When she ventures to the other side of the river to take her fiance's prized classic car in for some work, she makes a shocking discovery ... panties belonging to her own best friend in HER fiance's car!
Wyatt Abbott sees the look of devastation on Sutton's face when he pulls the item out of the car and he sets out to do anything he can to help her. He might be from the lowly Louisiana side of the river, but he had a huge crush on her years ago, and the chemistry is alive and well as soon as he sets sights on her again. When Sutton decides to strike out with some revenge of her own, he agrees to pretend to date her all around town. Each time they are together, they find themselves fighting attraction and soon their dating is more real than either of them is ready to admit!
Small Town Love
What a wild ride I had while reading Leave the Night On by Laura Trentham, book four in her Cottonbloom series. Sutton Mize owns a boutique selling dresses and lingerie to the wealthy women of her Mississippi town. Wyatt Abbott has crushed on Sutton since he was a youngster. He was with Sutton when she discovers her fiancé has been cheating on her with her best friend with lots of evidence found in the fiancé’s classic red Camaro. To save face, Sutton tells the two cheaters that she’s been seeing Wyatt while knowing they were cheating.
As Wyatt and Sutton show the towns they are together as they fake date, feelings actually do begin as the chemistry between these two builds. Sutton needs to learn to not be so nice and worry about what others think as well as allowing herself to have some fun. Wyatt has his own demons to deal with, including dealings with his oldest brother. Sutton had so much difficulty knowing her mind that it made it difficult to sympathize with her at times. Those times made me feel badly for Wyatt.
I really enjoyed reading this wonderful book and highly recommend this book to other readers. Although part of a series, this is a stand-alone story.
I voluntarily reviewed a complimentary copy of this book.
Leave The Night On is an entertaining, small town, heartfelt romance.
Wyatt Abbott has had a crush on Sutton Mize since childhood. But, since he was a grease monkey and she a judge’s daughter, he stayed on his side of the Mississippi River and left her alone. That was, until, Sutton pulled into Abbott Brothers Garage and Restoration. She wanted to restore her fiancee’s Camaro convertible. It was supposed to be a surprise for her fiancee, but the real surprise was on her. While cleaning out his car, they found evidence that her fiancee, Andrew, had been cheating on her.
Out of anger, Sutton told her fiancee, that she didn’t want him anymore, and that she too, has been seeing someone else, Wyatt Abbott. To Wyatt’s delight, Sutton asked him to be her “pretend” boyfriend. Wyatt was more than happy to oblige. He just hoped that when the ruse was over, he would be able to find all the pieces to his broken heart.
I thoroughly enjoyed this delightful, well-written, and captivating tale. The characters are likable, the dialogue, flowing and the situations realistic. Very enjoyable.
