What would happen if you lost everything? If the people who were supposed to love you unconditionally were no longer there for you, how would your world change?
Madeleine Becker lost everything when her parents died when she was ten years old. Ripped from her home and everything that she has ever loved, she is forced to start all over again. The only way for her to move on is to build walls around her heart and keep everyone at a safe distance. Her logic: she can’t get hurt if she doesn’t fall in love.
That theory is blown to pieces when she meets Reid Connely during her freshman year at college. He is gorgeous and darkly mysterious. He understands Maddy’s pain all too well, but sharing his pain would mean breaking down the walls he put up around his own heart. Conflicted between loving Maddy and hiding his dark past, Reid starts to reevaluate his world. Maddy’s inner strength, snarky personality and breath taking beauty help Reid to make peace with his past.
Together they find out what happens when they Let Love In.

Weak heroine, cheesy too easy story
I read about half the book and then gave up.
It was just too easy and boring frankly. They meet twice and suddenly Maddy is the woman of his dreams.
She has had a difficult life but all she does is whine about being alone. She’s lucky that she has her best friend and her best friend’s mother who loves her like a daughter. So it’s a little exasperating to constantly read that she’s crying about being alone.
I really don’t recommend this book.
A 3 star rating -Kms
I read this 400 page book in 4 hours and the start turned out ok... It got really funny with the middle of the story. Then the end caught me off guard, it was really bad. I don’t feel like continuing the series unless I have the $4 to buy the next book! The way the it ended was terrible. I hated how bad the sexuality got. There was maybe 1 sex seen in every, let’s say, about 20 pages. I skipped through the first sex seen and it took up 20 pages! Too much detail! I may not be continuing the series.
If you do not want anything to do with sexuality then I do not recommend this book!
SPOILER ALERT 🚨
When Reid just left the baby and her to basically be by them selfs, sure that was his choice but it sucked! She chose bad things!
