This book can be downloaded and read in Apple Books on your Mac or iOS device.
The O’Donnell brothers continue to cast their lines and find love in this alluring romance from the bestselling author of Off the Hook (“A must-read for fans of second-chance love stories.”—Lauren Layne).
Seasick. That’s how Jessie Todd feels when her best friend and boss, Finn O’Donnell, tells her that the Buoys will be featured on a popular fishing program—which just so happens to be hosted by a guy she used to date. She’s still friendly with her ex, but her new feelings for Finn are making things . . . complicated. His life is out on the sea, and though Jessie works at the resort, her paralyzing phobia of water keeps her on land, where she’s safe. To take a shot with Finn, she’ll need to face her fears—and her innermost desires—head-on.
Finn has been nursing a crush on Jess for a long time, so when she suddenly asks for swimming lessons, he dives right in. Holding her shaking hand as she steps into the ocean makes his heart swell—despite the sinking feeling that she’s just doing it to impress that smarmy TV host. Finn doesn’t trust anyone with his bruised and battered heart, but he’ll be forced to lay it all on the line to keep Jess from being the one that got away.

A wonderful friends to lovers story
The second in the series, I’ve read it from the beginning, and while you won’t go wrong reading these in order, Drewry does manage to provide enough background to pick up this series at any point. Her writing has progressed in ways that I had hoped for, while still providing a character driven plot and a fearless head-on approach to tackling more difficult subjects, she’s softened the conflicts and issues somewhat in this series, and the result is a fun read.
We met Jessie in Off the Hook, and while she was fun and funny, the searing glances she shot Finn’s way were indicative of more to come. Now, she’s back with her own story – and several big secrets. See, the Buoys are due for some national attention with a popular television program arriving to film a fishing show. Thing is, Jesse already ‘knows’ the star of the show Hooked, as she and Sam had a torrid fling that ended when she returned to help out the O’Donnell brothers (mostly her bestie Finn).
Finn O’Donnell is a bit abrupt, less than cuddly with everyone, except Jessie. He’s had a crush on her for years, and while he knows she’s terrified of water, she’s never shared the why. He’s thinking that the time together before the Hooked crew arrives will be perfect to get to the bottom of her secret, even though he won’t push her too far. Oh , and it doesn’t hurt that they are already besties, but he wants more.
Oh this was cute. Most of the conflict here was the push-me-pull-you attraction between Jessie and Finn, and how they both tried to ignore it, then went with it, then pulled back again because they both were afraid. When Sam arrives, there’s a touch of jealousy, and seeing how Jessie relates to him, Finn knows he needs to step up and make his moves…definitively.
A wonderful friends to lovers story that is reasonably low in angst and stress, where only the characters get in their own way repeatedly on their way to a happy ending.

Love sneaks up on friends
This is the first I read in this series and I did not have a problem enjoying the story. Finn and Jess are two people who have experienced very traumatic pasts and have tried to protect themselves from further hurt. Jess decides it is time to begin moving beyond her past and trusts Finn to help. Their friendship is a strong one and it was fun watching it become more. I loved all the characters and look forward to more in this series. I highly recommend this book.

This is a friends to lovers charming story with a HEA ending. The characters of Jessie and Finn are a couple who made falling in love so much fun. It was very heartwarming how Finn helped Jessie overcome her fears, but there was more to the story with the setting of a fishing lodge. Throw in an ex boyfriend and interesting secondary characters, with some humor on top, and you have an engaging romance.
