Great read

I read this book as a part of required reading for a graduate course. It was really refreshing- it was thorough but not overly heady. Nouwen appeals to the heart. Because of this book, I'm gonna pick up more titles from nouwen, i just wish the iBook store carried more.

Simple Truth

I'm already a Nouwen fan. his "Return of the Prodigal Son" "Out of Solitude" changed my life. This book is a very easy read, but it cuts to the heart. It is a great book for individual examination, or for a small group who wants something to anchor their time together. It's biblically sound without being preachy. It's good for the person who needs some quiet reflection like I did. This is among my favorite Nouwen books. It's not "in your face" but it doesn't let you hide from facing yourself either.
