A man called Joe
Building a new life for himself and his preteen daughter brings Joe Messina home to Harmony Valley. That and showing his town that the onetime bad boy is now a responsible single father. His first move is to get his grandfather's defunct garage up and running. Except now he's got the FBI poking around, and there's a beautician with her eye on the abandoned auto parts. An artist who's happiest turning rusty junk into sought-after treasure, San Francisco transplant Brittany Lambridge is making Joe think they can create something rare and special together. But he has unfinished family business that could jeopardize his fresh start. Is Joe ready to believe in himself as fiercely as Brittany's beginning to believe in him?
"Marrying the Single Dad" (Harmony Valley Series) by Melinda Curtis is a great read. I loved Joe and Brit's story. I also enjoyed Sam, and catching up with everyone in Harmony Valley. Looking forward to reading what happens next! Highly recommend to all fans of romance!
A fantastic heartwarming addition to the Harmony Valley series. As expected from this author the writing is superior and the characters are well developed and endearing.
Joe Messina's life has imploded spectacularly. The uncle who he had believed in proved he couldn't be trusted. Now Joe finds himself and his daughter back in Harmony Valley with his bad boy reputation from his youth still haunting him. He just wants a simple uncomplicated life but with his uncle's troubles weighing on him, the town not being as forgiving and welcoming and he had hoped, and the feisty artist Brittany Lambridge always in his thoughts, simple is the last thing he's getting.
I highly recommend this one.
Single dad and second chances...
This was my first Melinda Curtis novel and won't be my last! The story starts out with Joe and Sam (Samantha) catching Britt and Reggie "stealing" car parts off his property. Joe had recently moved back home for a fresh, new start in life. He worked as a high-end mechanic to the wealthy. His Uncle owned the business, that's now being investigated by the FBI. So he comes home, to a not so welcoming town.
Joe chases Britt off his property with the threat of calling the cops. Britt, unaware that anyone lived on the property, was trying to pilfer a BMW grille for her artwork. Britt recycles dumped, rusted items to make works of art. Recently, Britt has lost her creative inspiration. Her father, her main supporter, passed away and she can't seem to create any art. Through her numerous attempts to obtain the grille, she starts to fall for Joe and his daughter.
Joe is faced with many obstacles when arriving in town. Nobody can seem to forget or forgive his past "wildness" enough to give him a chance to get his auto shop off the ground. He takes a job driving the town's elderly around, slowly gaining trust. Britt has her own issues of insecurity to overcome before they can even begin to entertain the idea of dating.
This is a heartwarming story of second chances! I loved it! I enjoyed Britt's crazy antics to claim her "art" pieces. I also easily related to Joe's difficulties in raising a teenage daughter. I recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys single dad or second chance stories! I received a gifted copy of this novel and all opinions stated above are my own.
