Sweet read!

A heartfelt read about moving forward after deceit and finding happiness again! Fun characters keep you laughing as you read through to the heart of the story.

Joe Messina is picking up the pieces the best way he can when he comes back home to Harmony Valley with his pre-teen daughter Sam. He is trying to earn an honest living even with the FBI still breathing down his neck for things he can't fix. Will the town give the former bad-boy a second chance, or will he never be able to live down his reputation?

Artist Brittany Lambridge meets Joe shortly after he gets back into town in an unorthodox way. She's thinking about pilfering what she things are abandoned car parts from his newly purchased property! Doing hair for a living isn't leaving Brit much time to pursue her true passion in life, but she's determined to do it one way or another. Will Joe turn out to be the best thing that ever happened to her, or will he push her away before they can find out?

Single dad and second chances...

This was my first Melinda Curtis novel and won't be my last! The story starts out with Joe and Sam (Samantha) catching Britt and Reggie "stealing" car parts off his property. Joe had recently moved back home for a fresh, new start in life. He worked as a high-end mechanic to the wealthy. His Uncle owned the business, that's now being investigated by the FBI. So he comes home, to a not so welcoming town.

Joe chases Britt off his property with the threat of calling the cops. Britt, unaware that anyone lived on the property, was trying to pilfer a BMW grille for her artwork. Britt recycles dumped, rusted items to make works of art. Recently, Britt has lost her creative inspiration. Her father, her main supporter, passed away and she can't seem to create any art. Through her numerous attempts to obtain the grille, she starts to fall for Joe and his daughter.

Joe is faced with many obstacles when arriving in town. Nobody can seem to forget or forgive his past "wildness" enough to give him a chance to get his auto shop off the ground. He takes a job driving the town's elderly around, slowly gaining trust. Britt has her own issues of insecurity to overcome before they can even begin to entertain the idea of dating.

This is a heartwarming story of second chances! I loved it! I enjoyed Britt's crazy antics to claim her "art" pieces. I also easily related to Joe's difficulties in raising a teenage daughter. I recommend this novel to anyone who enjoys single dad or second chance stories! I received a gifted copy of this novel and all opinions stated above are my own.

Fantastic

A fantastic heartwarming addition to the Harmony Valley series. As expected from this author the writing is superior and the characters are well developed and endearing.

Joe Messina's life has imploded spectacularly. The uncle who he had believed in proved he couldn't be trusted. Now Joe finds himself and his daughter back in Harmony Valley with his bad boy reputation from his youth still haunting him. He just wants a simple uncomplicated life but with his uncle's troubles weighing on him, the town not being as forgiving and welcoming and he had hoped, and the feisty artist Brittany Lambridge always in his thoughts, simple is the last thing he's getting.

I highly recommend this one.
