Description

From the New York Times bestselling author known for her "zany humor and spicy romance" (Publishers Weekly) comes an action-packed paranormal about a dragon hunter and the dangerous bad boy who steals her heart.
Dragon Hunter Wanted:Sword supplied. No experience necessary. One moment, I was a normal (if somewhat germaphobic) math teacher getting ready for summer vacation. Then my sister died in a pile of black ash, leaving me with a sword... and her destiny as dragon hunter. It turns out there's a whole other world out there filled with demons, dragons, and spirits. Now my job is to protect mortals - and I haven't got a clue what I'm doing.
Then there's tattooed hotness Ian Iskander. Part dragon hunter and part demon, Ian's got some seriously creepy business associates and keeps trying to steal my sword. So why do we keep getting lost in hungry, crazy-hot kisses? Ian is the only person who can help me figure out who - and what - I am. But trusting a half-demon is dangerous... because when you play with dragon fire, someone always gets burned.

From Publishers Weekly

Aug 06, 2018 – The first book in MacAlister's fluffy new series featuring dragons and demons is bursting with the author's trademark zany humor and spicy romance (as seen in The Vampire Always Rises). Veronica is a teacher with OCD and a burning desire to write a novel during her summer break. Her plans are disrupted when her absentee half-sister, Helen, calls to beg for Veronica's help. Suddenly Veronica's possessed of a sword and carrying out Helen's dying request: protecting a woman and her two children from demons. Unfortunately, Veronica's mysterious new neighbor, Ian, is enough to provide a very delicious distraction. Ian is a tired, tormented half-dragon, half-demon hybrid called a dragon hunter, whose sole purpose is killing demons to protect innocents. Inconveniently, he's bound to a demon lord who delights in manipulating him. When his mission collides with Veronica's, neither demonkind nor humankind is safe. Lighthearted humor and an offbeat cast are just enough to elevate the simple, occasionally confusing plot, ensuring this quick tale will delight paranormal romance fans.

Very Funny Read

Veronica James, had no idea that her dying, half-sister Helen, was anything, but human, until she turned her into a dragon hunter. Not only did the flesh-tearing bite send Veronica’s OCD into overdrive, it hurt, a lot. Her half-sister did apologize, but still.

Although Helen was weak and dying, she was able to pass, onto Veronica, her first mission as a dragon hunter. She was to save a battered woman with two children, from harm. The assignment sounded simple enough, especially, with Veronica’s newly acquired dragon abilities and sword. The problem was, however, that Helen died before telling her who the woman was. In addition, to that important information tidbit, Veronica didn’t have a clue about being a dragon hunter. She also, unfortunately, left her sword in the alleyway where Helen died. When Veronica went to retrieve the forgotten sword, she found another dragon hunter, Ian Iskandar, stealing it. Veronica didn’t know at the time, that the dragon hunter she was fighting, would become the love of her life and mentor.

Ian Iskander had a mission to accomplish. Unfortunately, it involved Veronica James, the battered woman Veronica was trying to save, and Anzo, the demon lord he was bound to. Ian tried not to fall in love with Veronica, because not only would his crazy complicated life become impossible, it would be dangerous for Veronica.

I thoroughly enjoyed this humorous and engaging book. The characters are colorful and quirky, the dialogue witty, and the crazy situations, very funny. I especially enjoyed the hysterical banter between Veronica, and the dragon hunter, who stole her heart, Ian. If you enjoy, humorous paranormal romance novels, you’ll love, Memoirs of a Dragon Hunter.
