From New York Times and USAToday Bestselling romance author Jean Brashear
HE DID TWENTY YEARS IN PRISON FOR HER TWIN'S MURDER...NOW IS HE THE ONLY ONE WHO CAN SAVE HER?
Days away from release from Attica after serving twenty years to guard a secret, Lucas Walker discovers that he’s news again.
The story once shocked the world: the son of renowned Shakespearean actor martin Gerard, murdered while defending his twin sister Tansy from assault by Lucas Walker, the juvenile delinquent once taken under the wing of Gerard’s wife Juliette.
Gerard’s triumphant return to the stage after a ten-year absence brings the old case to light. When Tansy is kidnapped, Lucas can’t leave New York as he’d planned, no matter how badly he wants to—not until he lives up to a promise to her dying mother to protect her. Lucas goes after her, risking imprisonment once more to face the person responsible for the night that forever altered all their lives.

Mercy by Jean Brashear
ARC for honest review with no compensation,
WOW so different from the Texas Hero’s series but what a well written, emotional book by Jean Brashear and hard to put a label on it. Some might say it’s a romantic suspense, but it has so many facets that I can’t decide….
Lucas Walker has spent the last 20 years in prison to protect the love of his life, Tansy Gerard and to protect her at all costs. When he finally gets out of prison and wants to move on with his life away from the turmoil of what happened 20 years ago, he finds he can’t move on because Tansy has been left in the make believe world of what happened that awful day and nobody helped her to come to grips with what happened so she is left to be in both the real world and make believe at the same time.
This story has many interlocking pieces, letter kept for 20 years, Tansy’s make believe world, her sisters and their problems, her father and his agent, Tansy’s kidnapping and the mystery behind the death of Tansy’s twin brother Paris.
Will Lucas be able to help Tansy and bring her back into the real world and solve all these mysteries of what happened 20 years ago or will he finally turn his back and begin his own life now that he is a free man????
Did not know what to expect from this story. It is different from Jean's other books. This is more raw. At first it seems this is a story about Lucas and why he was in jail, but it is so much more. This is a story about a family, dysfunctional it may be. If I say any more I will give everything away. Mercy is a must read.
A romantic suspense must read
This was an emotional read for me at times, but it was so worth reading. I absolutely love Lucas and the sacrifice he made for the woman he loves. This book is not just about Tansy and Lucas though. We also learn about Mona and Kat and their lives. I recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a romance that's unlike any other you've read!
I received an advance reader copy of this book and this is my voluntary and honest review.
