Brooke Devereaux has a lot she wants to escape from: a career she never asked for, a future she doesn’t want, and parents who’ve only ever seen her as a business opportunity. But in her desire to experience life, she quickly realizes she’s lacking in one very important skill—how to survive on her own.
Former soldier Cole Timmons is an expert at running away. Whether it’s from his rural hometown, alcoholic father, or painful memories, Cole doesn’t hesitate to leave.
Until he encounters an out-of-place woman at a gas station in the middle of nowhere. The wealthy “princess” couldn’t be more different from the country loner, and the pair get off to a rocky and misadventurous start.
But sometimes exteriors are armors meant to deceive. Sometimes what’s beneath reveals more than anyone ever realized. Sometimes, in order to stop running away, a person simply needs to find something to run toward.
Misadventures is a romantic series of spicy standalone novels, each written or co-written by some of the best names in romance. The stories are scandalous, refreshing, and, of course, incredibly sexy. They’re the perfect bedside read, a ‘quick blush’ for the reader who loves a page-turning romance.

Loved it, this is the first of the misadventures series I read. I can’t wait to read more...
Misadventures of a Country Boy
This was an unexpected delight...While I am prone to like anything country, especially Cowboys...Brooke had me fascinated to the twist introduced in this book...an entertainer, singer...meeting a total stranger whom she fell in love with was not what I was expecting...but left me with an emotional twinge at their new found love...I thoroughly enjoyed it...and it left me wanting more...kudos on excellent writing!
What a country boy should be!
To be honest, I wasn’t sure how I felt about Brooke. At first I thought that she was kind of spoiled and bratty even though she was definitely was out of her element (by her own choosing). I did like Cole, who seemed to have the exact qualities of a country boy that readers expect, polite, charming, and a good heart. After I got to know and understand Brooke, I liked her much better. This was an easy and entertaining read.
