One single dad.
One set of twins.
And the wall isn’t the only thing being drilled…
I learned the hard way that being a handywoman isn’t easy. The questions, the stares—the assumption I’m the proud owner of a cock and balls. Not that it matters. I’ve proven over and over that I’m ready for anything the judgmental asses throw at me.
Except the hot, single dad of twins who just moved to town.
Brantley Cooper gets the shock of his life when I show up on his doorstep to fix up his kids’ new rooms. His son is confused why ‘the pretty lady has a drill,’ and his daughter has a new obsession—me.
On paper, my job is easy. Go in, do their bedrooms, and leave.
In theory, I’m spending eight hours a day with a guarded, sexy as hell guy, and I’m staying for dinner more often than I’m eating it alone, on my couch, with Friends re-runs.
I shouldn’t be staying for dinner. I shouldn’t be helping him out with the twins. I shouldn’t be falling in love with tiny toes and dimpled cheeks.
And I most definitely should not be kissing my client.
MISS FIX-IT is a brand-new, standalone romantic comedy from New York Times bestselling author, Emma Hart, who brought you BEING BROOKE and CATCHING CARLY.
Sexy, fun must read!
This book should come with a warning - Beware all who open, guaranteed chance of falling in love with this book!
Emma Hart has written a heart-warming story of a family in need of a mother's love and the reluctant woman who becomes exactly what they need. Kali is just the handiwoman hired to redo Brantley's children's rooms. She has no idea when she takes the job that this man and his children will become everything to her.
Kali is a great character. An independent woman with her own business and a sassy attitude. Her interaction with Brantley is classic with great, sarcastic quips and stolen moments of longing. Brantley is not your typical book boyfriend. He is focused on his kids despite his growing attraction to Kali. He seems to understand her hesitance in regards to his kids and patiently waits to take what he wants. However, the real stars of the book are those twins. Eli and Ellie are amazing, which is exactly what I would expect from Emma Hart, who I appropriately dubbed the Queen of Book Kids! The twins are funny and provide great comic relief and yet there are these sweet, soulful moments between them and Kali that will have you near tears and not sad tears, but tears of sweet happiness. If you are a parent, this book will really resonate with you. That's the other thing that made this book such a great read, Hart's ability to realistically write a family situation. I found myself stopping to think about similar experiences I had with my kids and it made me smile.
I already warned you, you WILL fall in love with this book and the characters within. A must read!
Way more than I anticipated
This book had so many more feelings than what I anticipated. I didn't expect to get emotional or to absolutely fall in love with Kali and The Coopers. It's always the ones that you least expect that get you the most. Emma Hart has a way of evoking emotions you didn't see coming. And I don't know if she puts a little bit of her kids in all of the ones that she writes, but if she does, then they must be pretty great. She's writes the best ones, with these twins taking the cake. Some of my absolute favorite ones ever. Eli and Ellie, while stubborn and frustrating at times, they summon all of the "awwws" out of you. They seem to steal the show quite a bit. Don't worry, Kali is also one of my favorite heroines. She's feisty and independent. I love the way she handles her business and how she doesn't take others opinions to heart. She's full of surprises as is Brantley. He's sweet and patient, especially with the twins, and not afraid to admit that he can't do something. He's also an alpha in all of the ways that matter if you know what I'm saying...::wink wink::. I couldn't get enough of Miss Fix It. It was so much more that I expected. It easily earned its spot as one of my favorite books of Ms. Hart's.
A slow burning romance, Miss Fix It is a fun read. Kali, a handywoman who took over the family business, meets single dad Bentley and his twins, Ellie and Eli.
Kali is a woman who has it decided. No kids for her. She's single, a business owner, and an independent woman. Bentley is a hot single dad. He's new in town and he hires Kali to fix up his house.
The chemistry between the characters is amazing. The kids are so realistic, and I loved watching Kali fall in love with them. Bentley and Kali has a tension filled, slow burn. The pages just sizzled when they were together. The story is well crafted, and hard to put down. The characters are interesting. While I would have liked to know a little bit more about Bentley, it didn't detract much from the story.
Overall, I would recommend this to the reader looking for a rom com featuring a hot single dad.
