A one-night stand and a missing child put these two on opposite sides of solving a murder.
A rising star at the FBI, Taylor Sinclair has a perfect close rate on cold cases. When the bones of a senator’s murdered wife turn up eight years after her kidnapping, the case lands on Taylor’s desk, putting her in the crosshairs of the media—and the killer. Success will solidify her career at the Bureau, but a provocative one-night stand with cocky PI Matt “Mad Dog” Stephens could ruin it.
Matt’s on the hunt for the killer as well, along with the senator’s still-missing child, and believes joining forces with Taylor will get them both the answers they need. He’s determined to get the sexy agent to work with him—in and out of the bedroom—but Taylor is convinced the senator is a murderer. Matt is just as certain he’s innocent.
With a child’s life on the line, Matt and Taylor must plunge into the world of undercover ops and a dangerous attraction that could prove fatal to them both.
I can't get enough of the Justice Team Series by Misty Evans and Adrienne Giordano. Missing Justice is the latest book by the duo writing team and features Taylor, an FBI agent and Matt, a Private Investigator. What starts out as professional competitors and a one night stand turns into a phenomenal story and adventure.
Evans and Giordano always come up with unique stories to tell with several layers and plot lines to keep the pages turning. In Missing Justice, the main plot is a missing wife and child of a United States Senator. Eight years after Justice Greystone (The Justice Team founder) gave it a crack as an FBI agent, Taylor starts working on it since there are new developments. As Taylor starts her investigation she runs into Private Investigator, Matt, and finds out the the senator has hired him to complete the investigation. Should they work together or against one another? The sparks begin to fly.
I absolutely love the way Evans and Giordano write their books. The reader gets to follow leads and work out the mystery alongside the characters which includes the emotional highs and lows that are part of any missing person case. It makes you feel as though you are part of their team helping them solve it.
Along with the amazing plot, Evans and Giordano really up the sexiness of the romance in Missing Justice. Matt and Taylor slowly fall in love with one another throughout the entire book and it shows in small moments whether it's the hand holding or the passionate love scenes or the heart wrenching scenes where emotional walls are torn down. One aspect of their romance I loved is that they didn't really leave one another. They worked through their issues without much physical distance.
Missing Justice can be read as a stand alone like all Justice Team books, so if you are looking for a fantastic romantic suspense story, give this one a read. You will love it whether you are a first time Justice Team reader, or have read them all! (
Another good read in this series
I really enjoyed Taylor and Matt's story. This was a fast paced romantic suspense that had a good storyline. I love getting to revisit the Justice team. Matt is a cocky PI who gets under Taylor's skin from the first time they meet. When she realizes they are working on the same case, she takes the chance to let him into her case and her heart. Lots going on in this book and the story was great.
I would have liked a little more back story on Taylor and Matt and how they got through life with the kidnappings that shaped their adult lives. Taylor's family was shattered by what happened. I would have liked to see a little more info on how that shaped them.
Overall though, I truly enjoyed this story and it was another great Justice story!
Spark are flying and danger is everywhere!
If you want riveting action and sizzling sexual tension, Missing Justice is for you. Missing Justice is Book 7 in The Justice Team Series by Adrienne Giordano & Misty Evans. I was given an ARC for an honest review. This review is completely honest and voluntary.
Both Matt and Taylor are high achievers trying to deal with tragedy in their separate pasts. He is a private investigator and she is a rising star with the FBI. They have some history together. Not good history. She believes he poached one of her cases and won’t let it go. But in addition to the history, there is also an undeniable attraction between them, always simmering just below the surface. They meet again by chance and finally give in to the desire. What can a one-night stand hurt? It’s not like they work together or have to ever see each other again.
However, it turns out they are working together, on opposite sides of trying to solve a murder. Matt believes his client is innocent, while Taylor believes he is the murderer. As they begin to share information – and danger – they become closer and closer, both professionally and personally.
This is a terrific story, with non-stop action and suspense, humor, sexy times and likeable characters that you can’t help but want to end up together. The sparks are there. Taylor is closed off and wary. Matt already knows he wants more. He’s the strong, not-so-silent type, and oh so sweet. You are drawn in from the first and know Matt and Taylor so belong together, so when they are in more and more danger you can hardly take a breath. The cast of supporting characters keeps you guessing – neither Taylor’s nor Matt’s bosses like them working together and you are on the edge of your seat trying to figure out who could be the murderer from the old case and who is trying to kill Matt and Taylor now.
I read some of Adrienne Giordano’s Private Protectors series books and thoroughly enjoyed them, but this was my first adventure with The Justice Team. It certainly won’t be my last. I intend to go back and start at the beginning of this series, and I highly recommend you do the same.
