Max Riley is the man of your dreams. Or at least he will be, for a price.
As his alter-ego Mister Romance, Max is a drop-dead gorgeous escort who makes romantic fantasies come to life. No sex, just swoon-worthy dates to die for, and the cream of New York's socialites can't get enough. Whether they want a dominating billionaire, bad boy with a heart of gold, hot geek, sexy biker, or best friend who loves them from afar, Max can make it all happen, but he's careful to keep his real identity a secret.
Enter investigative journalist Eden Tate. Having caught wind of the urban legend of Mister Romance, Eden is determined to publish a scathing expose on Max and his ability to swindle lonely society women out of their fortunes.
Desperate to protect his anonymity and his clients, Max challenges Eden to give him three dates. If she doesn't fall in love with him, she can run her story with his blessing. If she succumbs to his charms, the story dies.
Cynical Eden has no doubt she can resist his fake romance personas, but when the real Max admits he's falling for her, she has to decide if the professional liar is telling the truth, or if the passionate man with the mysterious past is just one more character designed to con her out of her career-making story.
Don't miss this sizzling new standalone from the internationally best selling author of Bad Romeo, Broken Juliet, and Wicked Heart.
One of the best of 2017
Gasp. Swoon. Sigh. Leisa Rayven has created romance perfection yet again. I knew this book would be good, but it seriously exceeded any expectations. I was so wrapped up in this story that I was holding off on finishing it because I truly didn't want it to end. This book needs to move straight to the top of everyone's TBR.
Pessimistic reporter Eden doesn't believe in love or relationships. So when she hears about the perfect man supposedly sweeping women off their feet for the right price, she sets out to discredit the so called Mister Romance. When the subject of her investigations agrees to give her a story, eden starts to realize maybe she's not such a skeptic of that pesky emotion love after all.
I don't think I could pick one aspect of this book as my favorite. Everything was spot on. The writing was witty and smart. The chemistry between Max and Eden was off the charts. I loved the back stories of both H/h. I don't think I've ever been this smitten with a Hero in a book without having his perspective told throughout the story. Max is pretty much every favorite book boyfriend rolled into one character. It's pretty safe to say this is one of the best books of 2017. I'm still riding the post book high of this story. 5 stars isn't enough for this book. I absolutely loved this story.
Fun, sexy swoon worthy romance and so much more!
This is the first time I have read anything by this author and it won’t be my last. I truly enjoyed her writing style and I loved the slow burn of this romance. The dedication the author wrote set the tone for this book and it certainly lived up to my expectations! “This book is for everyone who’s ever felt ignored and invisible. I see you. And you’re beautiful. Incredible. Priceless.” This was Max’s mantra.
I had to sit on this for a day because I was dumbstruck what to write! Did I like it? Yes, I certainly did, but it wasn’t what I was expecting. The synopsis gives you a great idea about the story, but the journey you take while Eden is trying to get the story (she’s tenacious) and Max’s ability to make Eden question her ideas about him, about this business that he has and about love.
Max is in one word amazing! He is the ultimate actor and chameleon. He is smart, funny, gorgeous, attentive, romantic, sexy and is always one step ahead of Eden and it drives her crazy. Their chemistry is electric and Eden is so torn. She is a cynic. She’s a love snob. She is the ultimate love them and leave them girl. She does one night stands, no commitment, no muss no fuss! She so does not want to buy into what Max is selling, but her resolve weakens.
You can’t help but to fall in love with the characters and as the story unfolds your heart lurches as truths come out and real life tragedies are realized. The secondary characters are as bold and rich as the primary characters and you also fall in love with them as well. Eclectically lovable Nanabeth, the adorable Moby Duck, Eden’s hopelessly romantic sister Asha and Toby her cyber brilliant metrosexual partner in crime at work.
I truly enjoyed the journey I took while reading this book and it gave me all the feels I hoped to find while reading romance. I laughed, swooned and was rooting for the characters. It was so entertaining and I was so invested! I loved the slow burn simmering under the surface as Max worked on Eden’s resolve. Their relationship was built slowly and Max took his time showing Eden what it’s like to realize she was worth being loved.
I highly recommend this fun, sexy, swoon worthy romance!
